We could've had many BB series like Bond series.. 😔

YESYESSS! I feel so strongly about this. I wish BB had worked. I liked the movie. I wanted a whole series of them.

Oh well just have to stick to Anjan Dutt's Byomkesh series, which is great!

As for OP, it's not a genre that works for Bollywood audience. Hopefully someday Bollywood audience would like more than 2 types of films. Kingsman is one of my most favorite movies. I can't wait to see the new one.

@Maharani --- TFS, and I never knew this, such lack of integrity among peeps that are supposed to have/show utmost devotion to our nation! :O :( ..very sad, wonder what RAW can do to ever prevent defections, I feel bad for Indian Government.

There were many spies in our history. I remember watching this program on Epic Channel "Adrishya", about various Indian spies like Azeez-un-nisa, Ajit Doval, Bahirji Naik, etc... BW should make movies on such spies. There are many stories about real-life Indian spies in our history - from the times of Chandragupta Maurya to colonial times to the present day.

I liked agent vinood more.. I wish it was a bit shorter though..

the problem with BB was.. it was complicated.. I understood but casual movie goers had a hard time getting it.

I also felt the same about Bombay valvet...

I won't blame it on the lack of a cultural trend. BW can take inspiration from so many Indian spy stories in Pak, theories, and intrigue around RAW etc.

For example:

Problem is they just have to make everything comical with stupid BW drama, weak plot and love angles. 😕

Yes... Same reason except for musicals (all of them), romance, comedy(yeah, right!), there are no other successful genres in BW

When an average guy - whether he's a mechanic or student or a doctor - can single handedly fight 100 guys, why do we need a seperate genre... we don't need a spy movies or sci fi

The man and his lady sing a duet in the space or moon or mars and audience' sci-fi needs are satisfied 😛

But I think lack of cultural trend is also the reason

Film industries do movies keeping up with current events. For HW, the US just happens to have more enemies and friendemies to base movie plots on 😆
