TBH this age crap annoys me irl too when people are haw age ho gayi shadi karlo, haw umar ho gayi bacche jaise harkatein na karo, age ho gayi ye career change mat karo. Why is age such a barrier? If SRK felt like he wanted to do the movie, his choice, imho age shouldn't restrict him.
If people didn't lap up the chemistry that's a different issue.

Literally nobody sane said this. The problem is in his choice of romance. Light romantic comedies work successfully with younger pairings who have plenty of chemistry. At his age, SRK should know better than to choose light romantic films, especially with the way he has been ageing. He does not look young onscreen. Work in romance films but look out for something mature, something that actually suits him. Kisne kahan romance mat karo? Just choose something that suits you and your personality.

I cant act like a 5 years old right? The mischief they do, do not suit a 15 year old forget about 25 years old...Thats why a mature light hearted romantic comedy would suit him not DDLJ rehash

A person at any age will be called tharki if they do that. Be it a 20 y/o or a 55 y/o. Take Badri for example. Stalkerish, cheap behavior yet people called it a cute love story.
What I gather from the trailer of JHMS is a character who claims he is a cheap, tharki guy. So I don't see how the lover boy image comes into play. Also, fail to see it as a DDLJ rehash since there wasn't an age difference in that movie.

Srk needs to do a movie which I had made a script for him. He and Nimrat Kaur(she looks mature enough, even though is younger than SRK) or Vidya Balan playing a middle aged couple who have just lost their son and are devastated. Their emotional turmoil and instability impacting their other child, a young 10 year old girl. A sensible director can make a very good product from this plot.

Had he been doing a mature romance with an actress his age I doubt anyone would say "uski umar ho gayi hai ab"

Ah, so the problem is the age gap. But even so personally it doesn't annoy me. I never got the hoopla when Aish did ADHM, I don't get it even now.

Also this age is just a number crap is only put on actors. Why don't actresses get to act like this? SRK can do movies with girls half his age but there is no movie of older actresses with younger heroes. Even if there is, it's very rare (Aish-RK) while older heroes with heroines half their age is considered fine and a norm. It is fine for actors to be old but heroines must be "young"... it is wrong. It is very one sided so yes I will keep saying that SRK ki umar ho gai hai, same with other older actors of bollywood. Even Aamir is doing a movie with Fatima soon in romantic way

I liked Ash-RK pairing and have always liked Anu SRK pairing, she had debuted with him and that movie was a huge hit
This age thing doesnt matter to me also.

Most critics and reviews are praising both SRK, Anu and their pairing...there was nothing cringeworthy in their pairing, we have seen them in 2 movies already
The main problem seems to be the lack of story in 2nd half

Think he could have been good in Lootera opposite Sonakshi also. She has a mature face. That role was my dream role for Aamir but SRK could have pulled it off if his OTT-ness is toned down. Or, something of Bharadwaj. I have always felt SRK and Bharadwaj could really work together given he strictly tells him to stop being OTT. But not in Bharadwaj's random stuff, in his Shakespeare adaptation where he does his best work. Like King Lear. Or, if Bharadwaj decides to adapt something like Merchant of Venice, he could be a decent Shylock IMO. Thing is there are soo many good content available while BW continues to recycle faltu romances and biopics. It's insufferable. The content crisis is really bad.

There is not even a huge age difference between Aish-RK.. they have the same age difference that Alia-Varun have, some mere years...but SRK is almost double of Anushka's age.

Aish-RK: 9 years age difference
SRK-Anushka: 22 years age difference.

Yet that age gap worked in their first film together, RNBDJ was a Blockbuster
That time there was no social media or twitter to bash them for age gap and people enjoyed movies for what they were
Anu has acted with the other 2 Khans too who have the same age gap with her
Tab toh itna outrage nahin dekha tha 😆
