I found Hanste Zaham's composition .. very tough
Like--Tum jo mil gaye ho,betab dil ki tamnna as well-aaj socha toh anso baar aaye

Madan ji seems fond of sitar...beautifully used in this song..

I remember, I used to have that Anmol Ratan' series of cassettes...and initially I found many of Madan Mohan's compositions too 'slow' for my taste. I liked his more peppy songs like "milo na tum to hum ghabrayein" or "koi patthar se na maare" much better... but eventually, and especially after acquiring a taste for ghazals and songs which required masterful singing, did I finally begin to appreciate what a genius he was... I guess many people might share the same story as mine...and, I think, this is probably why Madan Mohan didn't get his due share in his lifetime...

P.S. - I love the way he played with the tempo of songs (slow>fast>slow) in compositions like "tum jo mil gaye ho" and " har koi chahta hai ek mutthi aasaman" 😛

I think he deserve award for his movies-anpadh,Haqiqat,woh koun thi,Hanste zakham,Jahan ara...even Heer Ranjha .
He was dishearten and start drinking ,and end of with Liver cirrhosis, one of the known cause of his death

It is another amazing composition..think about it.. those days musicians does not have all this new technology ..which can correct singers mistakes. Moreover iused to be live recording
how difficult it was for a singer to give their best for this type of composition.
Salute to them⭐️

yes, he did deserve an award for many of his films... but then there were so many talented music directors in that era ... and there was such a stiff competition between them... that it was kinda impossible to predict who would get an award... who knows may be there was some internal politics also that played a role in getting awards...😳
