Do you feel like arijit's voice is overused??

I am not anti-arijit and Before you start bashing me let me just put it out there that arijit is one of the best singers currently but I still feel that every song of Pritam has arijit in it whether arijit actually does justice to the song or not. It is not promoting singing talent the way it should. And I feel sad. The recent song safar is the perfect example. It required a voice that is light and airy and can give that slow retro feel. It needs that exhalation of breath and that ummm feel to it. Arijit does not suit the song at all. And yet out of all the available singers he becomes the chosen one. Is it any point in actually having singing talent or are connections the only thing that matter in this industry??

Yes i feel the same too he is being overused, I love him and his songs but there is too much everywhere and i echo the same feeling about safar someone else should have sung it.

YES. And Papon is TOO under-used!!!

Overused. Repetitive and frankly, there are better singers out there who can do justice to a song. IMO, Arijit's voice DOES NOT suit SRK.

Amit has great voice but only for peppy songs..same for jubin ...

so arijit stands out for me and deserves each bit of success he is getting :)..

Yes exactly my point- Every generation had different singers - singers as in PLURAL. Like if there was a song that was a Sukhwinder type song then he was the only one thought of for it. There would be no scope for sonu nigam Or Shaan or kk however talented they might be. And they WERE talented whether the current generation wants to acknowledge it or not. With Pritam every song has arijit or Amit Mishra in it. And he is the current favourite music composer of major films. Therefore the only voice we hear is arijit. It doesn't necessarily mean that he sings the songs well or his voice suits those songs. To be very honest.. I would have loved to listen to kks voice on this song. The beats of the song are very similar to bheegi bheegi. I wouldn't mind a Mohammad irfan also. But there are other singers who are not getting a chance to shine because of this. I don't know if you've heard of Siddharth slathia. Just listen to his cover versions of arijits songs. You'll realise how much justice he does to it. Arijit deserves this success because he is hardworking but so do so many others because they are working hard too and not getting acknowledged for it. And if you ask me about versatility I'm sorry to say but arijit is not very versatile. Fast pop and slow pop are not the only two genres available on the world.

Arijit is versatile, he can sing a love ballad , ghazals, dance songs, you name it. I really loovee his voice.

His voice is perfect for the romantic and painful songs
But for some of the other songs his voice does not fit
So I agree that he is being over used
This way he will reach a saturation point soon

It didn't matter to me before but currently every other song be it from Jagga Jasoos, WHMS, Raabta, Half Girlfriend is sung by him. No doubt he is a good singer but it surely does gets repetitive.

Arijit is really amazing singer but he is not only overused, in some songs he is overrated also
