The premise of this story is that Sivagami and Mahendra Baahubali really did drown when they fell in the river trying to escape (don't worry, it won't be sad for long). Devasena is heartbroken after losing literally everyone, but vows that she will take revenge in another lifetime. Hence she refused food/water and passes away so that she can be reunited with Amarendra. However, even Bhalla passes away due to unexpected circumstances and they are all reincarnated in the modern day world. So Baahubali and Magadheera mix🤣 I know it is a bit dramatic, I am really bad at writing in kingdom style. Hence they will be transported to the modern day world pretty soon. Please let me know what you all think, I am not a prof writer by any means. 😳

Devasena was wary of the plethora of emotions flooding through her in the span of the past hour, each so intense that she was almost left numb. However, the sudden realization that her last reason to live, her son Maharendra Baahubali, had drowned alongside his grandmother Sivagami Devi hit her like an icy wave. She had lost too much, and the intensity of the past few hours instantly turned the icy wave into a fiery rage so forceful that she felt that she would burn to the ground.

She ignored the chaos occurring around her, focusing only on channeling her anger rather than dispelling it. However, she was disrupted with the familiar, eerie sound of Bhallaladeva's footsteps walking down the corridor towards. Devasena didn't dare to move; she could not. She would not react, as she couldn't risk her any of her anger dissipating. It was then that she made an internal oath that she would avenge Amarendra and Mahendra Baahubali's deaths, even if it wasn't in this lifetime.

Devasena could vaguely recall Bhallaladeva's sneers, as well as being chained and imprisoned in the Mahishmathi dungeons some time later. She refused to even look at Bhallaladeva, Bijjaladeva, or any of his men, only concentrating on her internal oath.

24 hours later

Bhallaladeva swore underneath his breath despite his recent victories. With all of his opponents killed, there were no more obstacles in terms of conquering the Mahishmathi throne. However, Devasena made him restless. He wanted to make her suffer, to see her agitated and inconsolable in her current state. Instead, she was completely void of all emotion, appearing numb even when mistreated and abused. She had refused water and food for the entire day, but he could not attempt to convince her himself because of being kept busy from the ruckus that his own people were causing due to the previous day's events.

I will go see her myself,' he thought to himself impulsively before heading in the direction of the dungeons. After a ten minute walk, he finally reached the confinement, much to the surprise of the soldiers that were stationed at the entrance. Ignoring everybody, he quickened his pace before he came to where Devasena was confined. Much to his chagrin, she still sat with an emotionless expression, facing the wall without the slightest acknowledgement of his arrival.

"Devasena, what is this...refusing food and water. If you do not follow my orders, I can easily make your life more miserable, Bhalla threatened, his anger increasing with no change in her facial expressions. When she did not respond, he grew so furious that he indicated for the guard to open the door to let him inside. Just as he was about to show her a piece of his mind, a hand on his shoulder stopped him in his stride. His father Bijalladeva had followed him to the dungeons, and before Bhalla could object, he was pulled to the side, hidden from Devasena's sight.

"Bhalla, you must be careful. The people of the kingdom are causing riots on the street after having lost their so called king and the king's son within a day. Some of have even managed to cause damage to parts of the palace. Devasena is currently the only living connection to Baahubali, do not lay a hand on her yet, Bijjaladeva warned. "Give them some time, or you may not have any people left to rule.

It took more consoling to calm Bhalla down, but he finally decided to ponder over his father's words and analyze the situation in another week or two. With a final scoff, he left from the dungeons, leaving behind his satisfied father.

Two weeks had passed, and Bhalla was increasingly realizing how true his father's words were. He would never admit it to anyone, but he was barely getting a few minutes rest in settling down the uproar caused by Amarendra Baahubali's demise. He barely had spare time to even check on Devasena, so the news of her sudden passing took him by shock.

"What? Devasena is dead?! Bhalla roared at the messenger who brought the news. "How did this happen?

Gulping, he meekly said, "Maharaj, she has not touched a drop of water since the night Baahubali passed. After losing so much blood from childbirth, she became very weak, and..

"I gave my men orders to make sure that she was eating enough to live, Bhalla screamed again. "This cannot be happening. Devasena cannot be dead! To say that he was angry was an understatement. In fact, he was furious. He did not anticipate that victory would feel like this. Everybody whom he wanted to suffer was gone, and he felt that everybody who he wanted to torture had passed too easily. How could this be? How could she pass away so simply?

Little did he know that he had it all backwards, that God had other plans. He knew nothing of the fact that his demise was not far, that he would be stomped to death by a mob of angry Mahishmathi residents in a few short weeks, nor did he know that the sadistic spirit of Bhalla would be reincarnated many years later. Most importantly, he did not know that Devasena's desire to reunite with her husband and avenge Bhalla's sinful acts would transport them all to modern day Hyderabad, with his desire to rule Mahishmathi and witness the suffering of his younger brother and wife left unfulfilled.
