A DIFFERENT TAKE
" Dadda "
This simple short crisp yet the cutest word on earth tickled Katappa's ears for a long time now.
Even before uttering maa or baba, Mahendra has uttered Dadda!! This was a devastatingly beautiful incident for katappa. His mind flew to the day when Baahu had called him Mama. Today history repeated itself. The child whose feet he had taken onto his head soon after his birth, had spontaneously connected katappa to himself. Without any imposition.
Katappa had tearfully stared at Amarendra. He had smiled. This smile had lit up katappa till date. Now along with that, his little descendant's smile and words will.
Devasena had proudly placed Mahendra in his hand. " Yes, this is your dadda, little one. He'll teach you everything like he did to your baba. "
Katappa just couldn't help his eyes from welling up. Before leaving the room, he had tightly hugged Amarendra and silently screamed, " Thank you Baahu, for forever giving me a greater reason of existence. "
Katappa later walked upto Shivagami. She was busy instructing workers for preparing with every perfection for the upcoming rice ceremony of her grandson. Katappa had never seen Shivagami so enlightened and happy. She sensed his presence and turned to him. " Katappa, did you visit Mahendra? Did you hear him talk? " , Shivagami was as excited as a little kid. Katappa nodded silently with a ear to ear smile on his face. Shivagami went on saying things about how her little kid will be, how he will look exactly like Baahu, how he would turn to be the best after his father and so on. Katappa kept on smiling. Time heals everything, he had heard. But more than that, a kid does. The almost shattered relationship of Shivagami and Baahu has grown stronger than before. Baahu may not be the king, but he handles everything prettier than any king on earth. The mother son relationship will always remain a trendsetter.
The round red face of an innocent little child played over katappa's eyes. The child who did everything alright, unknowingly, innocently.
