I don't get what are people actually trying to prove, SRK had a hard childhood or the luxuries he had during childhood does not matter because he struggled in Bollywood as he was an outsider. Whatever SRK seems to have had a good childhood provided by intelligent and hard working parents who did good enough to allow him to be the man he is today. So why are we trying to make it like SRK had a hard childhood?? When he got luxuries which 80% of the kids of his time could not even dream about.
As for Kjo, woh toh hai hi gadha.

Proves theory of Rampant Victim culture right. Everyone wants to prove their favorites have had troubled life. πMoreover, discussion is not whether SRK was RICH or not, or whether he struggled or not. Discussion is, was his childhood spent better than most MIDDLE class people. Yes, I think it was. Owning a 2nd hand car in 90s was a luxury for many middle class families. Forget 70s. Till late 90s, middle class Indian used to ride scooter with 2-3 kids. 1 bachha aage khada hoga, 1 pichhe biwi ki god mein.PS -- Some can keep getting amused by my comment. IF is for amusement. ππ
I am not talking about SRK hiding anything. I am talking about people trying to make it like his family had great financial constrains when he was a young kid. But as said by you or everyone else, the problems he faced has more to do with circumstances rather than financial. sorry but I am failing to see how he had a difficult childhood. Yes he had struggles, so does everyone but I don't see it as worse as you are trying to portray.Originally posted by: zaroonkashaf
When has he ever stated that his folks didn't do everything possible they could to provide him and his sister the best possible childhood they could. They gave them a wonderful education but to state that his childhood wasn't hard is naive to say the least. He lost his father when he was a teenager and ten years or so after that he lost his mother. He has spoken so many times about how much that all impacted his sister , she suffers from depression and he has stated on record that he probably would have been going through that as well if he didn't work 24/7. This notion that his childhood was hunky dory is preposterous. As for luxuries , please do define luxury. His mother worked darn hard to provide them with the education they got , his father tried his hand at a few things but didn't succeed. Infact at one point if I'm not wrong they had a business that Shahrukh tried to manage after his mother's passing but couldn't as they were in a lot of debt. To sugarcoat things just because he is successful now is to undermine his journey. Were there times where he had fun just like any other person his age did? Sure! But even if he was as rich as some here now are making him out to be , it still wouldn't change the fact that his parent's passing had a huge impact on both his sister and him , just like I think it would on anyone out there. His backstory like I stated earlier has been covered so much that even if he wanted to hide aspects of it , he couldn't.
