It would have been better if she said

"As if I'm the most popular brown face that everyone has seen in recent times."

Everyone agreed DP was wrong, it was ignorance and not racism. So she said with bit of masala. :P

I love the arrogant humble brag. LOL. And yes she's definitely mocking DP with that statement. PC has learnt how to shade like a Queen from her (ex?) King. 😉

But she's certainly making waves & making them huge! I see her being a smash-success abroad! She has all the ingredients & the personality to!

Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone have taken Hollywood by storm with their movie debuts and red carpet appearances.But, after all that there have been incidents where Deepika Padukone had been confused to be Priyanka Chopra. For instance, on LA airport, the Western media failed to recognise Deepika and called her 'Priyanka'.
Recently, in an interview with a leading Bollywood website, Priyanka shared her views about Deepika Padukone's 'identity crisis' in the West.
To that she said, "That's not fair and it's not right." She also admitted that she had watched videos of media confusing Deepika with her.
"I did see that and you know that's just ignorance and it's not right. I guess I'm the most popular brown face that everyone has known. Every brown girl does not look the same. Don't mistake it. Let's try and tell us apart. That was not right and it's not fair she's a massive star from India", Priyanka shared.
The Quantico star added, "But it's also, like I understand I guess. When I went to America for the first time, at least Deepika's had a film (xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage). When I went to America for the first time I would walk into the room and introduce myself. I don't expect people to know me either, because it's a different country. Just because I'm a popular star in India doesn't mean the whole world has to knows me. Just because I'm a Bollywood actor doesn't mean people who do not watch Hindi movies have to know me. I'm not entitled like that. I guess that is another aspect of this."

As much as people here like to insist "It's only ignorance, please don't call them racist" 😭😭 there are a shit-ton of cases where South Asian celebs are constantly mistaken for each other, when they don't look similar at all. Despite starring in big TV shows and movies, the media doesn't even bother to learn their name - when these "mistakes" or "ignorance" is repeatedly done towards people of one race, it's nothing but racism.

Seeing Indians themselves try to defend racist behaviour because they want to tear down PC or DP is bloody hilarious though 😃
