If you like the Mirror, do check out his other work. Tarkovsky is as good as it gets when it comes to cinematic art, poetic and and beautiful. My favourites are The Mirror, Stalker and Andrei Rublev.

Anyway some amazing choices for your first movies with the likes Tarkovsky, Gordad, Wong Kar Wai. You can't go wrong with them. Son of Saul is absolutely brutal but what a movie.

Gosh you guys are good that you remember movies. I have a brain like Swiss cheese.

Hindi - Probably Baazigar but definitely something SRK/Kajol. But it was my choice as I liked them as a kid, well even now too.

Tamil - Probably something Rajni, too young to remember. Parent choice

Telugu - Too young to remember. Parent choice

Malayalam - Too young to remember. Parent choice

English - Probably Disney. Parent choice

Marathi - Sairat

Bengali - Choker Bali

Spanish - Pan's Labyrinth (in spanish)

I watch European, South American and Mexican cinema. Have not watched South East Asian cinema or Middle Eastern cinema except a few Iranian. I did watch an Iranian Oscar winning movie recently, I think Salesman.

Hey Arsal.. 😃 Thankyou, yes, Stalker is up next, I want to watch ALL of Tarkovsky movies but I don't find them on youtube :(

Sooo true, the direction is... poetry in motion, my exposure to range of movies is less, but I have never seen such camera work, or direction and IDK how to say, but the 'value of each frame' in the movie... or even the dialogues(barring Ingmar Bergman and few other movies).

And what is baffling is that Godard, Tarkovsky, Bergman made such top quality work 4-5 decades ago!
