It's such a cliche and common thing to have the hot model babes in big films. As time goes on, it seems most actress are competing with who can look better in a bikini rather than who can leave their mark in people's minds years from now with their acting talent.
Of course, in Bollywood, actresses all have a short shelf life. It's the sad truth and I am sure they all have to accept it at one point in time. Though, I won't just harp on the actresses for being props.
Now we even get to see model men and eye candy boys. I predict in the future we will have more "furniture" types of actors than we wanted. *How exciting*
What can we fault here? It isn't necessarily wrong, but, from some stand point do you ever think "oh, I have seen this type of person before." Doesn't that ever get old? Well...I can say...clearly not.
Why don't we look back at some props, shall we?
Madhubala: In the ENTERTAINMENT industry a classic choice was to have Madhubala. Was she the best actress, goodness no! She had charm, she was beautiful, danced well, and stole our hearts. No disrespect to her but when I think of Madhubala, I think of her beauty. Not her content.
"The most beautiful woman in the world" Aishwarya Rai is another example. She won Miss World and was a model before entering films. EVERYONE loved her. We still do in fact. Though, no one says her name and thinks acclaimed actress. She added some appeal to the film and her beauty is usual the talk of the town.
He's handsome, he's charming, women go crazy over him BUT, he's also a dud in the acting department. Sidarth Malhotra is known as a wooden plank when his acting chops are discussed. He has shown he can try...a little. Time will tell if he can prove he is an actor or not.
I like to think of him as an action man. Great abs and a nice smile doesn't equal a good actor, and John Abraham seems to fit that description.
We all knew this one was coming. The longest lasting prop in Bollywood is Katrina Kaif. Known for her hot body and item songs, her films bore me as her character seems confused and I am not sure she knows what she is even saying half of the time.
Another guy the gals love, Aditya Roy Kapur. Not really much to him. He is hot no doubt, but totally boring!
She loves to giggle, she likes to get wet 😉 she has men wrapped around her finger, Shraddha Kapoor just can't seem to grasp the A of Acting.
*basically add almost all of the new gen actresses* Sad when that is the fate of our actresses. Anyone you think I forgot? Any more actors you could think of?
