MUMBAI: The Santacruz police have
booked a production house owner after
a model accused him of spiking her
drink and raping her at his Santacruz
office earlier this month. She claimed
that he had called her to his office to
discuss a film role.
A case has been registered under
Section 376 of IPC. The police said that
they are verifying the 24-year-old
model's complaint. They have already
recorded the statement of the accused.
The model approached the police on
Tuesday, claiming that she got to know
the accused at a party five months ago
and had been in touch on phone with
him.

On April 6, the accused reportedly called
the woman to his office to discuss a role
in a film and sign her. "She claims that he
showed her pictures of celebrities and
told her he would make her a star. He
then spiked her drink and raped her at
the office. When she gained conscious,
she realized she was raped but the
accused threatened her with dire
consequences," said the police.
