Swabhimaan 20 years back was so modern & awesome and then we got a Swabhimaan now which is so regressive 🤢

Ekta ruined half and viewers ruined the other half. Now only such regressive and mindless shows are on top and all good shows are taken off air within 2-3 months

Before Ekta maa ruined TV there were shows like saans which was so progressive n Indian magazines were filled with it.. Women all Iver d country used to give female lead advice to how to deal with hubby cheating ass. Then there was kora kaagaz where woman husband left her on wedding nyt n she gets educated n become independent n fall in love with devar where her devar support throughout ..

no matter how much I have ridicule her shows, she did bring about a revolution in Indian television...a new wave of shows that were made on a much grander scale than the existing ones and made a huge profit too...

These shows were really progressive and much ahead of its times...wonder when will we see such content back on telly...

I remember watching them in my home country with my cousins.We were kids then,our aunties and mom's cousins used to gather and used to watch these shows.They were so mad for sujal. These shows are shitty to me but those memories with my aunt and cousins are precious.Now everyone are busy with their own lives :(

These shows put star plus on map. I remember mom watching saans n kora kaagaz n those shows were quite bold as well as realistic too... Saans was such a rage. Every magazine was filled with columns over it

She started it. Before she came, There was Tara, Astitva, Hasraten, banegi apni baat, Kora Kaagaz, Saans. comedies like Dekh Bhai Dekha, Tu Tu Mein Mein, Shreeman Shreemati, Hip Hip Hurray, Just mohabbat, etc. Females in these shows were so progressive n working n independent.

Ekta started melodrama, crazy make-up and sexy sarees.. story and plot was same in all of her shows.

and creatives today are just dragging it. Today what fans care for is -- eye-locks and sexy dresses of leads. She is the reason for dumbnization of Indian viewers.
