Is Varun now a bigger star than Ranbir and Ranveer? - Page 5

Varun was always a bigger star than Ranveer. Ranveer first needs to give a clean hit without Deepika.
Varun a bigger star than Ranbir?? Currently, in terms of Box office: yes.
But in terms of stardom: I don't think so.
Varun is playing very safe currently, doing only mass appealing movies with low budget. Badlapur worked bcoz of low budget. He's not taking much risks. Also I want to see him crossing 100 crores first without Srk and franchise movie. Ranbir was the one younger gen star, who came very close of getting the superstar tag after YJHD. But after YJHD, he only gave continuous flops and disasters until ADHM, which affected his stardom. But he is still a bigger star than Varun IMO.

Every film of his has crossed 50 Cr mark which intself is a record of some sorts.

I like ranbir . But at the moment varun has got more mass appeal , like it or not !! You can't discredit him just cause of his choice of movies. No one stopped other actors from playing "Safe".

Problem with the likes of Varun is whether they can take leap to the next level. He's shown that he can carry a movie. Now, either he needs to go the Aamir route and balance good cinema with his entertainers, or go to the Salman zone - where he completely dominates the sphere. It's difficult either way, so I hope he can work it out like Akshay did.

Amir chose different route only after staying for more than 15 years in BW. Current stars are too young to take alternative movies now itself. Ranbir tried it too early, hence got burnt.

I guess if risk pays off it is good else if it fails then you suffer a set back

Varun needs a big movie. He is getting there but not there. Small BO success is not enough. He needs to pack a punch. If Judwa turns super hit then the process begins. As for Ranveer and Ranbir, their next few movies are critical to see where they land up. 😊
