The acting-career of Saif Ali Khan is nearing its end as Rangoon' is the 5th consecutive failure for the actor, whose last successful films were Race 2 (2013) and Cocktail (2012). Go Goa Gone lost some money but it wasn't a outright failure and it didn't feature Saif in the lead as well.

Saif was never a bankable star in solo films. He rejected a film like Aditya Chopra's Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge at the beginning of his career. The turning point for him came when Shah Rukh Khan's Kal Ho Na Ho released in 2003 and did well at the box office.

The following two years was when he touched his peak and signed films with the Top-2 female stars of the industry - Hum Tum with Rani Mukherji in 2004 and Salaam Namastey with Preity Zinta in 2005. It was also the time when not only the actresses, but also the banner Yash Raj Films was delivering back-to-back hits.

The highlights of Saif's career are those first few films with Akshay Kumar at the beginning of his career. His three films with the Khans - Salman's Hum Saath Saath Hai in the late 90s, Aamir's Dil Chahta Hai in 2001 and Shah Rukh's Kal Ho Na Ho in 2003. His other hits include Kya Kehna, Love Aaj Kal, Cocktail and the Race series of films.

His next release is Chef', a solo film directed by Raja Krishna Menon. It's scheduled to release in July this year.

He has only one movie - Chef. After that, he will need to change shift to character roles.

OMG 😆 His last 2 hits were Race 2 and Cocktail both with Deepu, I did not know this 😆

he had talent but nothing is working for him now. His time is finished. I just hope this doesn't have bad effects in his home, Kareena and her passion for success seeing her husband like this.

I still wonder what made him say yes to Humshakals 😆

Kareena does choose love over a man's success.She was, after all, with Shahid-the flop-Kapoor for five long years. Saif, with or without success in the movies is still a Nawab. She will be more than okay with it.

OT : Saif isn't bad at all in niche roles.He doesn't fit the traditional HERO mold. He can act but needs to be brave with his choices like he has in the past with Langda Tyaagi and Ek thi haseena. He will not be able to sustain himself if he doesn't focus on interesting characters.

Hamshakal was the worst he has ever been part of !!

With Sara waiting to make her debut, he would be like Anil Kapoor - redundant as hero coz of age perception.

Difference is that Anil Kapoor is a brilliant and versatile actor. Saif isn't quite in his league. Anil can do any role with ease.

Saif could do well in supporting roles, but I don't find him spontaneous enough to succeed.
