Sanjay Dutt vs Sunny Deol

I was a huge fan of Action movies from late 80s and early 90s.

These two guys were the stars.. They were number 1 and competing with each other...I remember as a kid... We could be either a sanjay dutt guy or Sunny Deol guy..

I always wanted to know this...

So Who was better as a actor?

Who was a bigger star during their peek?

Who accomplished more?

Sunny paaji was bigger action star

Genre wise:

Sunny Deol was a very stiff actor, whereas Sanjay Dutt was very good at his craft, and did a lot of memorable movies and accomplished much more than Deol.

I disagree...sunny was a better actor.. he played more iconic roles too..

Sanjay dutt only munna Bahai!!! Maybe ragu in vaastev...

But sunny deol from honest cop to generals and majors in the army.. he played more iconic characters..

Sanjay did have longevity.. although it is sad to see him still trying!!!

Sunny Deol clearly accomplished more. 2 ATBB & 2 National Awards will put most people's resume to shame. Sunny Paaji was a true blue mass superstar, and not the kind of superstar media crowns anyone today but a Real Superstar.
Dutt was something else though. In the early 90's the mass hysteria he was building with Saajan, Khalnayak, Thanedaar, Sadak threatened to reach the heights of Bachchan. From his walk to his hair, Baba was being imitated by one and all. Then, Dutt went to jail. When he came back, it would never be the same. Some semi successes like Vaastav, Haseena Bhaag Jayegi, Khoobsurat but the mass hysteria was never there again save his 15 mins of fame in the mid 2000's for Munnabhai.

Sunny Deol accomplished more but some would argue that if Baba never went away there would be no Khans or Deol. As far as acting goes, Sunny Deol is clearly better. 2 National awards easily answer that one. Sunny deol also has more iconic characters but nobody can play a gangster like Sanjay dutt can.
