Finally watched XXX
the movie was really bad
but deepika was pretty good in it
not only that..she had a kick ass role..
I was very unsure about her role. I thought it would have nothing substantial and she would barely be there..but she was in like 80% of the movie..after some initial scenes..she was literally in every frame and contributing something to plot and not just being there
I know this may still have been a bad move since this role was no way close to hers in piku/tamasha/RL/cocktail etc and the movie didn't do well..but after watching the movie I feel it was not as bad as being made out to be either..she starred in an A list HW movie and was pretty much in a rather substantial role..great deal indeed
and when actresses here do a Bajrangi..dhoom 3..singham..where they literally have nothing to contribute..i feel deepika had a much much more substantial role and that too in an A list HW movie..I doubt all these doing meaningless roles here..may say something else but would have never refused an opportunity like this..esp when they star in much less substantial roles in BW itself..
but keeping aside all disappointments..at least deepika's performance and especially her role in XXX won't be one for me
also i loved how she was herself with the accent and how do I say..so balanced in terms of confidence..not under confident but deffo not over confident as well..she seemed at ease than proving a point..which is one of the reasons why I feel Ellen really liked her too..
