shocked many. Titled Beyond The Clouds, the
Iranian director's next is also the launch pad
of Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan Khattar.
The casting was interesting and was being
looked forward to. But soon it was reported
that Deepika Padukone is out of the film and
rumours of Kangana Ranaut replacing her
and showing interest in it started
circulating.
But upon reading the script, she didn't want
to do it. Confirming the same, she said, "It's
a brother-sister story where the brother is
the one doing all the fighting. Since I'm
jumping straight into Ketan Mehta's Jhansi
ki Rani, who was an iconic heroine, why
would I take on such a submissive role?"

As an actress she doesn't have to justify her choices for movies... Its her that needs to fill the character and as such she doesn't want to fill a plant or a pet, she wants some grits and challenges...

Nothing wrong with that. She earned the right to choose her roles. In the past, she complained that actors were always on the receiving end in terms of roles in movies. Now, for a change, she enjoys choosing... Nothing bad in there.

Is it not acting when you play a submissive role? Can it not be nuanced? What kind of a statement is that?
