NS, Raven - Apart from the punishments and general treatment doled out to black people for crimes compared to similar crimes committed by white people, innocent black people also tend to get punished for crimes they didn't even commit. For example, there have been many cases of men being falsely accused of raping white women, being convicted with no evidence and spending years in jail before they are released with maybe an apology and no compensation. Their life destroyed. It made national headlines when the situation occurred but there were no headlines when the conviction retracted and the person released. Many lives destroyed.

NS: Just read that you saw Rustom, it's based on one of the famous cases in India, the Nanavati case. He actually was apprehended & then the case was re-opened & pretty sure it was Ram Jethmalani, 1 of the top advocates in India, who fought the case & the jury system was abolished in India. It was held that due to jury-bias the case was decided in his favour.
