Anaar: I do think it's a good idea if both sorties are comitted to the idea, but personally not an idea I can ever carry out. And it does come with tonnes of practical & social nitty-gritties that most Indians cannot comprehend.

Parents are also product of their upbringing but sometime they shock us.

My father is very old fashioned but when his brother died at very young age after long illness, he told the young widow (my aunt) not to waste her life living a lonely life and to re-marry. He literally shamed everyone who were going on about how she will now have to lead lonely life and god give her strength. And these were so called most progressive people. 😡 He even offered to take care of her daughter- my cousin in case the new husband was not ready. He gave the same offer to my mom's brother and took responsibility of my cousin till her father remarried and the marriage stabilized. 😳
