Renowned lyricist-writer-poet Javed Akhtar rarely speaks about his kids or their forthcoming projects. But Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy seems to have impressed the writer extremely as he fondly spoke about the Ranveer Singh starrer recently to a daily.
For the first time ever, Zoya Akhtar will be bringing together Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatton the big screen with Gully Boy. Reportedly, the filmmaker's father Javed Akhtar appreciated the film a lot calling it one of Zoya's best works till date. While he claimed that the script intrigued him, Javed also asserted that it will be an exceptional film.
On the other hand, Javed Akhtar too will be an essential part of the film as a lyricist. Music is one of the integral elements of Gully Boy since the film traces the journey of street rappers and musicians. With Ranveer playing a street rapper, there is also a rumour that the actor will even rap a song for the film.
Javed Akhtar also spoke about how he is choosy about the film projects he approves even in case of screenplay and dialogue writing. While he is strictly against writing content for songs or movies when it revolves around vulgarity or obscenity, he further stated that he would be ready to even provide a story if he likes the concept for something.
Recently, Javed Akhtar was spotted giving a rather inspiring speech to a wide audience at the ongoing reality show TED Talks hosted by none other than Shah Rukh Khan.
