He liked her a lot & she was highly into him!! They didn't want her b/c with her came her family & they didn't want her family to sit on top of their heads & her past & very bad rep in BW was a very big deterrent b/c they're super hypocritical. Last straw was when she was stringing along Jr + AdiC & Pam C told Jaya B, one of her bffs, and they ended Rani's dreams & Ash made sure she rubbed it in her face too lmaooo.
