^^ that could be one of the biggest reasons, we had lot of subpar actresses that succeeded based on flowerpot roles. In her youth, many male stars are either shorter than her or looked short next to her.

I don't really agree with people who say that she was a bad actor. I recently saw Filhaal again and honestly for a person who had to stand shoulder to shoulder with a powerhouse performer like Tabu, her performance in the film was outstanding. She was also awesome in Samay and Aankhen. Not to mention had electrifying chemistry with Shahrukh in Main Hoon Na regardless of what anyone thinks about the film.

It blows my mind that a woman like her never made it big nor did she ever really sign films with any big league directors. It's also her misfortune that she came around the same time as Ash.

She is not much an actress. Don't get the height excuse. Deepika is of the same height and she didn't have a problem. In fact she was great with SRK in Main Hoon Na. Also she made some horrid choices at the beginning of her career and accepted too many bad roles/bad films and other than Main Hoon Na, in which she has a small but memorable role, none of her other commercial films worked big.

I feel she should've been offered comedy roles or roles like a serious bold professional woman or maybe a lawyer or something!! :)
