Both have slightly cankerous relation with their father. While one was born with platinum spoon in his mouth, another was born on wrong side of blanket. Both seem to follow Aamir's footstep where acting is concerned. Both have been famous for their less than savory personal relation and have been considered PR nightmare. Both are known for their acting abilities more than their BO reach. Their tryst with stardom is prickly. Shahid has settled down with Mira and RK is romantically free.

Discuss their strength, weaknesses, movies. Who will win this battle?

Even though both of em are almost same age, they debuted 4 years apart.

Shahid debuted very young in music videos. His baby face has been his plus. No matter what, you don't feel he ages. He can go on acting as romantic hero for as long as he wants. More experience but BO failure for most part of his career. I still feel he has particular set of audience that has always liked him. And still does. 8 of 10 movies of his, I enjoy watching.

RK is one fine actor. But RK have had lot of advantages over Shahid. RK is RK. From RK family. Whereas Shahid did struggle his way up. Started with background dancer, did music videos & then reached to the role of hero.

Overall, they both are my favorite. I enjoy watching em both. Shahid is a fine actor too. but even with less experience I would rate RK higher on acting scale. Personal life mein dono yede hai. so, not going there. But glad to see Shahid settling in.

This one is tough, because both win for me for different reasons.

Acting wise --- Ranbir wins. Shahid's acting started being good since Kaminey.. before that one can say he got into movies solely for his looks.. and, since then, his journey has been only upwards - he proved his talent in Haider for me.. where Ranbir was good since the beginning, and then came Barfi to just seal it for us - he is a good actor irregardless of Kapoor name.

Dancing --- Shahid has that dancing 'power' in dancing sense... but Ranbir is a good dancer because he commands your attention by his wholesomeness - acting + presence + dancing - this guy balances it all..

Journey -- I will not comment on this because I think Ranbir also must've done massive homework before getting into movies.. like Shahid did through songs/commercials/background dancing...

Stardom -- both equally I think.

Presently, both are pegged at same level for me.. I really find Shahid's acting intense, and i like it.. Ranbir is like an all-rounder, who can manage anything with balance.

Shahid's potential was never utilized coz he was stuck behind Khans and HR.
RK had better opportunities and he is better placed coz Shahid's screen age is much more than RK
So it's RK for me

I love Shahid. He is truly awesome. Tommy Singh was kick-ass and perfect !

But Ranbir's passion for movies and the kind of movies he wants to make for Indian cinema, is un-paralleled. He is a "quiet" mad scientist when it comes to movies. From wanting to be behind and front of the camera POV. I've only seen such calm madness in 1 other person. Raj Kapoor

^ That's true about SK, he lacks passion for cinema and is trapped under expectations of being a star. RK can afford to let stardom take a backseat coz he is a Kapoor . SK never had this choice .

Ranbir Obviously (Not because I'm his fan). Keep BO aside, since none of Shahid's films have ever crossed 70cr. But, even if you compare as a performer RK is miles ahead. Shahid started taking his career seriously from 2014 (Haider) before that he hasn't experimented anything. He's a good actor & I'm glad he's started doing good content oriented films. In the other hand RK started experimenting & taking up challenging roles from the beginning of his career & he already had 5-6 Top Notch critically acclaimed performance in just 5 years & carved a niche for himself.

Ranbir is near perfect since his debut.

Shahid is getting better recently. I always find him little wannabe.

Ranbir dances like an actor with charm and grace.

Shahid dances like a dancer and he is a good dancer.

To be honest , SK has been always a wanna be , always struggled to reach the A lister .

SK had the x factor which could have helped him to be on Khans level good actor, great dancer, but his disadvantage was when he came khans were ruling like anything but yet he made his mark ...many debutant of that era fail to make a mark like priyanshu, aftab shdivsani ,arjum rampal , abhiskeh bachan ...only hritik and shahid survived :) ...i never was fan of RK although he is a good actor
