Trouble doesn't seem to end for Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film 'Raees'. The MNS party had threatened the makers to ban the film in Maharashtra for having Pak actress Mahira Khan in its cast. But Shah Rukh and Ritesh Sidhwani who has produced the film resolved the issue after meeting MNS chief Raj Thackeray recently.
However, an another problem seems to be making way as the film approaches its release date.

As per a report in a leading publication, the Shia community is unhappy with the makers of Raees. The members of the community are in objection over a scene where SRK is seen jumping over a procession carrying the Alam Mubarak, which is a religious structure of Shia Community.
The structure is considered to be sacred in Islam and the scene has hurt the sentiments of the Shia community. As such, the representatives of the community have sent a letter to CBFC demanding to chop off the scene from the film.
Directed by Rahul Dholakia, the film will release on 25th January, 2017.

We simply have too many religions now. A day will come when it will be difficult to breathe without offending some religion.

A simple google search can save people from a lot of embarrassing situations. Shia-ism is not a religion but is a sect of muslims. So we don't have too many religions we just have a sect within the main religion.
And a few days ago when i said SRK is a naam ka muslim tu all hell broke loose. I was called a bigot and what not by people who didn't even belong to the religion. If SRK WERE a practicing muslim he would've known that toying with the Ashura procession is not a good idea.

And Shias are not being silly, they have a right to protest their emotional distress. I wish people would give people's sentiments the same reverence that they give the to a movie star.

You don't have to be Shia to know the importance of Ashura procession or the Zul Jinah. Any simple muslim worth their salt would tell you all about it.

The month of Muharram and procession for the martyrs in Karbala is a really sentimental time + ceremony for Shias. Making light of it is pretty much like making light of a funeral.

But to be honest I re-watched the trailer of Raees and there's nothing as such to be offended by. It just shows a clip of people in the procession doing matum, carrying alams and then Shahrukh jumping off of buildings. Not much to be offended by. Had it been him flying over alams and making a mockery out of the ceremony, then it would've been a different story. Not sure how it's gonna play out in the film but I'm sure Shahrukh knows much better. I actually think it's a proud moment for Shias to be represented in the mainstream media for once:)

Sheer bakwas all these religious nonsense! At this rate one day soon even breathing will offend some random religious fanatic

All our religions need to practice live and let live policy and as long as one doesn't harm any other human just let it be!!
