Shah Rukh Khan's Raees trailer better than Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil, say fans

Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan are set to clash at the box office with their upcoming movies Raees and Kaabil, respectively. Trailers of both the movies looked impressive but fans liked the Raees trailer more than that of Kaabil.

International Business Times, India, conducted a poll, asking fans which trailer they liked the most between Raees and Kaabil. Although it was a close contest, Shah Rukh's Raees trailer won the poll.

Approximately 59 percent people voted for Raees trailer while about 41 percent of the voters chose the Kaabil trailer. Hrithik's Kaabil and SRK-starrer Raees are two of the most awaited flicks of 2017. Both the actors are set to portray characters in the films that they have never done before.

Hrithik will be seen as a blind man, who sets out to avenge his wife's murder. On the other side, Shah Rukh will play a wicked bootlegger, based on a real-life character of Abdul Latif, who had ruled the illegal liquor business in Gujarat in the 1990s.

Raees and Kaabil poll resultIB Times India

Hrithik will be seen romancing Yami Gautam in Kaabil and Shah Rukh will be paired with Mahira Khan in his film. Both the pairings are also fresh. The makers of Kaabil had earlier announced that the movie will be released on January 25 instead of the previously scheduled date of January 26.

However, the makers of Raees had raised some eyebrows after they also announced that the film will hit the screens on the same date of Kaabil. This will definitely be one of the biggest box office clashes of all time.

Kaabil has been directed by Sanjay Gupta, while Rahul Dholakia is the director of Raees.

Mahira Khan to shoot for Raees with Shah Rukh Khan in Dubai

After the Uri attack, political party MNS banned Pakistani artists from entering India for their respective Bollywood projects. The criticism was so profound that Karan Johar's 'ADHM' faced the brunt as it starred Fawad Khan in the film. Recently, SRK's 'Raees' release was also in trouble citing similar issues as the film stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.

Looking at the sensitive situation in India, now 'Raees' makers have decided to shoot Mahira and SRK's songs in Dubai. There were reports that Mahira's role was chopped off in the film and a new actress was going to replace her opposite SRK. However, the rumours proved to be false as the Pakistani star was seen in the trailer which released recently.

Shah Rukh Khan's Raees co-star Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all praises for the 51-year-old superstar. Nawazuddin has also worked with superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan in Te3n, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Talaash respectively. But, the Kick actor told news agency PTI that he has never worked with a co-actor like Shah Rukh Khan. Nawazuddin said that Shah Rukh is one of the most supportive members on the sets and he takes his co-stars' performance to another level. Raees, directed by Rahul Dholakia, also stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan and is slated to release on January 25, next year.

"I've never seen a co-actor like Shah Rukh in my life. People may think of him as the richest actor or that he's a superstar but what I found in him is that he is an actor above all. He's extremely supportive. The way he responds to you and your performance, it takes your performance to some another level," Nawazuddin told PTI.

"I have yet to finish my scenes in Raees. In fact, I was shooting just two days back and the way he helped and responded to those scenes was amazing. When you work with him it doesn't feel like that he has this huge stardom. On sets he's an actor," he added.
Shah Rukh plays a bootlegger Raees Alam who has irked ACP Majmudar (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) witl his lawlessness. Raees in turn is upset with Majumdar's interference and uses his contacts to get hi transferred but it's too late and the Majumdar decides to put an end to Raees' reign. Their conflicts form the film's plot.

Of his role, Nawazuddin says: "I've played inspector in Kahaani but it was very different. He was very short-tempered, whereas in Raees my character is very cool, sensible and very professional."

Raees is releasing alongside Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam's Kaabil, produced by Rakesh Roshan.

Rahul Dholakia's Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Raaes" will show how banned alcohol is sold unlawfully in Gujarat, but the director says there is nothing in the film to invite a backlash.

The action-drama tells the story of bootlegger Raees (Shah Rukh Khan) whose business is challenged and eventually thwarted by a police officer, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

"There is nothing like that in the film that will invite backlash. Once you watch the film you will get absorbed in the world of Raees. There is nothing like that to be afraid of in the film. There is nothing against anyone, it is not bad about anyone," Rahul told a news agency.

The "Parzania" director, who took two years to make "Raaes", feels every film is a challenge.

"I think there are challenges in every film, specially when it is an original subject, so everywhere you have to fictionalise. It's not that we have copied from somewhere."

Also starring Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, "Raaes", produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Gauri Khan, will open in theatres on January 25.
