Anushka is overrated... No screen presence... Pathetic dialogue delivery... She is effing boring onscreen... Deepika may not be a terrific actress but her screen presence and dialogue delivery is way better than anushka... I would anyday pick deepika over anuhka's every role...

Voted for Naina.

Alizeh looks like Akira part 2. All over jumpy behavior. Otherwise I think Anu & DP are equal when it comes to acting.

all of DP's characters will always be above all of Anu's characters for me.

Anushka in ADHM hands down.

Alizeh is a better written character than Naina any day. Alizeh is a far more complex and difficult character to enact. In my opinion, Anushka had a much tougher job at hand than Deepika and she did an amazing job. I'd go as far as rating her as the best performer in ADHM. I honestly can see Anushka playing Naina but I can't see Deepika playing Alizeh.

Naina on paper is weak sauce. It's the actress who makes it endearing, the character itself is meh. I have no doubts in mind that any half a decent actress could have convincingly pulled off a Naina. With Alizeh? I highly doubt the same could be said.

Naina n Alizeh are from two different worlds. Alizeh has layers to her character that Naina doesn't have because Naina is a very 2d character whereas Alizeh has depth and dimensions.

That said, ofc, Anu as Alizeh > Deeps as Naina. Anu has the ability to emote and make her characters more vibrant because she has really good command over her expressions, which enables her to portray more nuances. That makes Alizeh more memorable. Naina is your typical BW character that doesn't require much skill to portray, just loads of natural charm, that Deepu possesses.

I think a better comparison would be deepu in cocktail vs Alizeh

Just becoz naina is an introvert doesn't make her a weak character... Infact her character was really beautiful and strong and no not every actress can do justice to it.. Deepz did it beautifully... And ayan is much better director than kjo... IMO... And alizeh was OTT... Really ott...! And yes characters like naina are there in many movies, but the way u present them, matters... I feel such introvert characters shown in the movie Are like a breath of fresh air !

Yes, I do believe it is!

I have enjoyed both performances. But like others have pointed out, Alizeh had the depths and dimensions of a fully-realised person.

The difference between Alizeh and Naina is that one of them was a real humanised character whilst the other was a "modern Hindi film heroine" type of character.

Taking nothing away from Deepu, it is hard to play an every-day girl-next-door character. She did add to it with her own artistic expression and it translated well. But what Anushka portrayed in ADHM was on ANOTHER LEVEL. Hats off to Karanji 😃
