KJo's IVs are always so fun to watch. 😆

The bit about how he would give 1 word to Ranbir to perform one scene was really cool! So the ADHM title song is all about heartbreak with forgiveness. Hmm, let's see how Ranbir has performed in the movie. I always knew Nikhil Advani alone could not have made KHNH. Glad KJo accepts that he put in significant input too. And yes that's your best movie KJo. So whatever you learnt, keep it with you. 😆 And I don't think he can ever make serious cinema without making them appear superficial because, he has that depth/wisdom inside him but he's so blinded by glamor and beauty that he just can't translate the depth on screen. Like he said he wants to cater to everyone. That's not always possible. A diehard romantic will NOT take KANK. He has to understand that. You can't always please every section of your audience.

Edit: This quoting business is annoying sometimes. 😡

I liked too how he stated KHNH as the movie that made him feel like a director. I loved that movie, even if he wasn't the one sitting in the director's seat. It had a KJo stamp all over it.

Agreed about the one word scene! I thought that was gold. RK is such a dedicated actor.

He's not as secure as he projects to be though. I don't believe for an instant that if ADHM fails, he won't be bothered.

Secure and KJo? He's hella insecure. 😆 He wants his every movie to earn loads.

You know, just take a look at Nikhil Advani's filmofraphy. After KHNH there is not even one movie worth talking about. This is the reason as to why I always believed it's KJo's baby. 😆
Anyway did you see he again said that he's got his heart broken twice. I really wanna know who broke his heart so bad? After all he's the big bad KJo. 😲

I think it was you who mentioned this about Nikhil A.
I saw his list of movies in wiki which included Katti Batti,Hero and the exception that is KHNH.
KJo did give his inputs and ThankGod for it!

I love it a lot when KJo talks about his film making process, what he does consciously or unconsciously for a movie. The benches, sets, costumes and most importantly the human connection that he wants to portray. In ADHM he gave words to RK and RK portrayed the whole song wonderfully👏.He gives credit where its due and applauded his DOP(Anil Mehta and Amrita) and Actor for their work.

I love his obsession for Dance, and found it way too cute when he mentioned that he integrated logic this time in ADHM by casting RK as Singer😆
Apart from this I love the fact that he loves his actors so much! Be it SRK,RK or Alia. He is friendly with them, talks about them and promotes them!

You're right. He is insecure. Yes I did! I keep on doubting the first one is whoever he'd love for a long time from the industry. Some people say it's Twinkle or something. Might be possible, they were friends I think. Who knows it's her wedding they're showing in ADHM? 😆

Like you, I never for once, believed that KHNH was Nikhil Advani alone. First off, KJo was scene everywhere on location for that movie. Secondly, it has KJo stamp all over it. And quite frankly, I loved that movie. It had the correct quotient of every single thing I want to see in a good movie. Compared to the like of KKHH and K3G even, which I'm not particularly a fan of, or maybe just in sections, KHNH is remarkable. Also, I felt for that time (2003 it was I think), it was such a progressive movie. The mother was strong, the daughter works and studies and takes care of the siblings, rich parents weren't obnoxious and off-putting, neighbours were like family, the maid considers the son like her own. There is not one character I didn't like in that movie.

Cool interview! Really liked KJo's explanation as to how he goes about creating the movies in his head and stuff. The Ranbir one-word cue has come out beautifully in all the promo material so far. Man, really excited to see how Ranbir shows the acceptance of being forever unlucky in love.
It reminds me of what a friend told me after watching Tamasha, and it spells quite true even here, "Ranbir nails the portrayal of emotional complexities that lie hidden deep within CRACKPOT characters"

He's a great talker. I have always enjoyed his interviews, and this one is no exception!
Loved Anupama's observation of him using benches and bridges in every movie. I never noticed 😆
I assume the controversy they were talking about was the Ajay-KRK one here. Little did they know what lies ahead 😭 But yes, Karan has been very unlucky in that regard. His movies are always plagued with them. Price to pay for being such a public figure director I guess.
