why just entertainment?
just like entertainment has no religion, so does sports, science, arts, or even patriotism for that matter.

In our army many muslims are fighting against terrorism...doesn't that mean that even patriotism has no religion?

the entertainment is not something extra-special, out-of-the the world phenomenon. Even entertainers are people like us... and the entertainment industry is no more special then agriculture or pharmaceutical or any other industry. medicines don't care whether they are made by Hindus or muslims nor do the crops care whether they are grown by a hindu or muslim. so stop this cr@p of trying to prove that entertainment is something special.

the only advantage that the entertainment industry enjoys is the associated glamor, reach & acceptance within the masses and the power to influence people's thinking or perception. hence, if the entertainment industry is primarily built around public acceptance then they cannot simply ignore public emotions at a given frame of time and dictate their own preferences.

For me there is nothing special about this statement of Ajay that entertainment has no religion...the only purpose this statement serves is to try giving a special status to entertainment industry even though his statement could fit on almost every other industry in India.

congrats! You proved Ajay wrong, with just one line. 👍🏼

BTW they also said that Nawaz was stopped because they could not replace the original actor playing that part at the very last moment. Also someone said that it may be because of the dowry case going on in his family. But even if we believe that it was indeed because of his religion then we are taking about Ram-leela here. they are organized at a micro level of not just cities or town but various parts of the same town and hence influenced by the local sentiments. that doesn't mean that people every where enjoy entertainment based on their religion, otherwise we would not be having 3 superstar khans in India.

but yes sometimes entertainment might actually be influenced by religion. I'm not very knowledgeable in this matter so can someone enlighten me about this statement - "Some Muslims believe that only vocal music is permissible (halal) and that instruments are forbidden (haram)." "The question of permissibility of music in Islamic jurisprudence is historically disputed.[2] Most jurists of the classical era of Muslim scholarship opined that music is forbidden both by the Qur'an and by the Hadith. The chapters of Luqman and Al-Isra in the Quran in particular are used to support this view.[3] Those who do not allow music also believe that Muhammad censured the use of musical instruments when he said: "There will be among my Ummah people who will regard as permissible adultery, silk, alcohol and musical instruments".[4] Islamic scholars of the past who agreed upon this include Abu Hanifa, Al-Shafi'i, Malik, Ahmad bin Hanbal, Al-Tabari, Al-Hasan Al-Basri, Al-Bukhari, Al-Tirmidhi, Al-Nawawi, Al-Bayhaqi, Al-Tahawi, and Al-Qurtubi.[citation needed]"

I know that sufis do allow it.

I am Indian and makes me one of the Indian public too...i share a different opinion to yours at a given frame of time and I completely agree with some of the film industry preferences(I don't see anyone dictating). So which section of public do entertainment industry please here? Why emotions of certain public is seem to be emotions of a nation?

by dictating I mean pushing one's own agenda ... which is heavily influenced by earning more and more profit by targeting more and more audience. what they don't realize is that in the process of acquiring new audience they are also alienating some others...

Now in case of ADHM or Raees it is yet to be seen whether this controversy will have any effect at all or not.

you ask - "Why emotions of certain public is seem to be emotions of a nation?"
well, ask this questions to our politicians also - why they have a voting system in India where choice of a certain public (regarding a certain political party) becomes the choice of a nation. till then ... I guess that is called majority. Now, where the majority lies in the case of welcoming pakistani artists is yet to be seen

I agree with you on every word. However, I would like to point out that leaders like Lalu prasad yadav, Jaya Lalitha are elected by public unfortunately. 😭. I am trying recollect other corrupt and rowdy politicians but not coming to my mind now.🥱

yes, the majority often makes bad choices but then that's how we roll in a democracy. (now remember we still don't know if the majority is in favor of or against welcoming Pakistani artists so either one could be a bad choice taken by majority)

as far as I am concerned, I cannot welcome a neighbor from a family whose few members have been involved in creating ruckus within my own house. even if the concerned neighbor is innocent...but yet remained silent on the tragedies inflicted in my house. I don't know, I don't have a heart big enough to welcome such people in my house. criticize me for it as much as you want...
