CDI is one of SRK's best and Barfi is the movie which changed my perception about Ranbir. Both gave stellar performances 👍🏼

Shahrukh in Chak De obviously. His role was way more challenging too. It's so easy to act and give expressions without any dialogues. Dialogue delivery is a very challenging part of acting and it could make or break your performance. Otherwise even Sonam can pull off a great performance by playing a mute if we were to just go by her expressions.

Playing a mute is not that easy! It can go horribly wrong a la Tushar Kapoor in Golmaal! Not everyone can pull it off. Yes dialogue delivery is hard, but so is hard conveying what you feel JUST Through your expressions. And there are many expressions which are so closely related as in angry and upset, without the tone of the voice it would hard to enact. The other hard thing in playing a mute character is matching the sign language to the expressions! For real mute people sign language is their actual language so it's effortless for them, while for actors they are learning it, they have to understand it to make the flow of emotions go through with their hands which demands a great deal of concentration, and then not even too much concentration that it looks rehearsed. I don't see a Sonam pulling it off so easily despite having good expressions, because even she is not perfect with the expressions all the time.

If I have to be brutally honest without any bias, I'd pick SRK in Chak de! India over RK in Barfi. Having said that, RK in Tamasha is the best performance by an actor in BW.

That's interesting Sayma. Why do you pick CDI over Barfi?

SRK in CDI. I almost had tears when he went back to his old home after the victory. In Barfi I liked Priyanka better, hers was a more challenging part. He was better in Rocket and Rockstar.

If I have to choose then I'll go with Shahrukh in Chak De India! Both movies and roles are so different though. But that one scene alone where he breaks down in the end while looking at the flag trumps everything else that some other actor has done for me at least. That scene just never gets old man. It gets to me everytime I watch the movie.
