Whether RK or RS, they have built certain image of their own. Somehow, SSR is not relatable to most audience in their way. So, the film was all the way Dhoni brand. Say if RK had done it, RK brand would have clashed with Dhoni and people might not have been able to see Dhoni in him.

It is not necessary that when two powerful brand come together, there is a bigger impact. Sometimes image of one brand clashes with the other and eats out the profit. Like in the case of Dilwale. SRK-Kajol could be a big brand. But they could not do justice to Rohit Shetty brand. Both catered to different genre and one ate the other.

Don't know about SSR but this movie for sure needed a different director. While the firsr half was close to brilliant, the second half of the movie looked like it was directed by somebody like Sohail Khan or San Jay Gupta.

Watched the movie.Enjoyed and kind of lived with it. First half is so amazing that it itself makes up for the repetitive love stories. I think Sushant was perfect as MS Dhoni. I really am impressed with his acting now. I think no star but someone like Rajkumar Rao may be could have done justice to the role too. I don't think I would want to replace Sushant for anyone else though.He was very natural and relatable.

SSR was ok, the script was bakwaas. They should've explored his rivalry with Yuvi a lot more, how Yuvi was the vice captain of the team and was being groomed to be the captain but due to his partying ways, Dhoni was chosen. But instead they showed his cricketing life in extreme fast forward and concentrated on a boring love story. Such a waste of 3 hrs
