The characterisation is such that Ayan&Saba are supposed to share this passionate and intense romance, so I think that's what KJo is trying to portray.

I think KJo is very clearly trying to make people root for Alizeh&Ayan 'cause after all, the story is about unrequited love.

People are gonna root for them all the way.

I might not be an Ash fanatic but I don't dislike her! I doubt I have ever even said a single bad thing about her!

As for rooting for one -'one sided love' over the other?

One relationship as I see is.
Lust from one+love/lust from the other

The other is
Deep caring love from one+friendship (and maybe some love) from the other

And I am feeling warmth for the 2nd kind and not the first! And I think it's kinda common to root for the 2nd over the first as general audience who don't have favs in this.. and that is 'my opinion'
I could be wrong.., so who knows.. :)

in simple words the trio Karan ranbir and Aish want ahit badly and they choose this way and will flop also loool

Yes, if KJO has that intention then its is perfectly fine, but i feel i do not pity over Ayan anymore, because if Alizeh is his only love, he should be pinning over her, instead he is enjoying a whole new affair and with somebody as beuatiful as saba, then its his problem if he cannot value saba or could not win Alizeh.. Alizeh probably loves Ali from beginning to end, and hope she justifies the theory that " Love happens only once " 😆 whereas Ayan is trying to imply " Love happens only once but sex can happen anytime and at any place..lol "

I guess people move on,flings and rebounds are commonthe era we are in noone stays single for a onesided love,people try to move on kiuki puri life akele kisiko nahi rehna. When I was younger I also thought like that hated rose in titanic for marrying but now I think noone wants to live alone for a love that will never come back.Anyway lets see puri story kya h😛

True, it's in the gaze. We saw that intensity between Ayan&Saba in the teaser where it was mostly them staring at each other. Here, I think KJo turned it into physical intimacy because maybe he thinks the audience equates that with a frivolous affair and not real love.

Of course, intensity is very much subjective and I saw it in the teaser between Ayan&Saba. Saw it between Ali-Ayan and Ali-Zeh too.

I definitely think KJO has that intention. Also, maybe Ayan hasn't realized he loves Alizeh while he is with Saba. KJo specializes in that. KKHH anyone- where Rahul took years to realize he 'loved' Anjali. 😛

It could also be that Saba&Ayan happen at a time when he thinks Alizeh is out of his reach or that they can no longer be together.

@pemberleydreams : No i do not mean that Ayan should stay alone for his entire life and pin over Alizeh, but whatever i understood that it seems like he is with saba only for a physical affair whereas he still wants Alizeh, and that is in not way a tasteful or even a sorrowful portrayal of a heart broken love lorn hero, i hope JO has given more depth to Ayan, because i know that Asian audience will not cry for a man who cries for his lady while does not care about the woman he beds every night. In titanic Rose married because Jack wanted, Rose had a marriage and dedicated her life and was honest with her husband, she did not pin over jack but she was proud that Jack was a part of her life, and here Ayan is licking Saba's face with an ice cream topping, so aha Rose and kaha Ayan 🤢

I feel ayaan saba started as no strings attached and she fell for him later maybe though I'm noyt sure due to the love at corner note scene😕If two people start a fling and both agree ki koi commitment nahi h then we can't blame the one who sticks to that.But as I said let's wait to know what the story is.
