I watched Jaago when I was a kid myself..perhaps 10-11 yr old. It was coming on Zee. None of the rape scenes were edited and I remember being traumatized and scandalized for a few days after watching it! The rape scenes were too long and sleazy and horrific with all the crying sounds along with the guys making disturbing sounds.
While I agree that awareness on child abuse is essential, the movie was disgusting!
Hansika's mother is a greedy woman I hear, so I can see her pushing Hansika to do the movie! No kid should have been made to do such scenes. 🤢

I know right.. The rape scenes were way too much🤢 I literally felt my heart thumping.. I don't get why they had to show that... Udaari is a Pak drama dealing with child abuse as well but they did not show the child being subjected to any such scene... Hell they did not even show the child uttering out that she was abused.. It was all done with subtlety while in this movie

I dont know what opinion to form of this issue. Bcz if they dont let children enact this then there is going to be no awareness regarding this .. A pakistani serial udaari showed rape of a 10 year old girl by her step father and the anount of promotions they did i am damn sure the little girl knew what the story was about .. Its hard to form an opinion .. But useless things like sexy in cheeni kam should be avoided AT ALL costs! Those are useless!

But they did not show her getting raped.. She never even once uttered k she was raped.. It was all done by editing.. Liek Imtiaz takes her to a room, cut to the scene where she is crying.. At least the child was not subjected to a scenario where she has to act like she is getting raped at that moment

but we cant have kiddy films in india right? most of them are meant for everyone.. including adults..
one film called Anjali in tamil and another film called Kannathil Mutthamittal had some serious topics involved. Anjali was about this young kid who was mentally disabled and she was dying... And as for the other film, it was about a kid finding her mother who was fighting in Sri Lankan civil war along with her parents..
The former won NA for best child actor.. But im not sure how they extracted the performance.. I think child actors performing those scenes for sexual abuse are bit too much but some are quite a revelation cos they are really natural.

No...the second time, she had torn clothes, blood on her mouth and she even witnesses her mom stabbing the creep! ...I also thought of the same thing.,...Is there anyway to show that scene without stealing the innocence of that little girl...But we desis have very little awareness/concern about how to protect a child's innocence...Like a member is saying she watched this when she was 10-11 years old herself, I remember watching Daamini when I was really really young, and those images are etched in my mind forever and I still wonder how I was allowed to watch it...:(

I did not watch the second scene so that was wrong too.. But you should watch Jaago to understand why I am so horrified at that scene.. It was disturbing and left a scar
I watched Raaja ki Ayegi baraat when I was a kid though my elder cousin ensured I do not watch the rape scene in it..
The Damini court scene where Damini gives a monologue still haunts me

We've seen rape scenes in BW sensationalized trying to show in a tantalizing way... How sick and creepy the director and producer were, trying that with a child rape scene

Another interesting question. It doesn't seem she is focused on having a second child after Dua and is focused on doing movies again. What do...
