Katrina Kaif, Sidharth Malhotra offloaded from flight at Delhi airport? Turns out they weren't

Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina KaifSidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif's Delhi promotional tour began on a dramatic note, resulting in some chaos at theDelhi airport, reveal sources at IGI airport. The two arrived at the domestic terminal Monday evening from Chandigarh and were scheduled to be at Delhi Duty Free in T3 for a promotional activity for their upcoming film 'Baar Baar Dekho'. To facilitate their entry to the international terminal, they were issued tickets for Air India flight number AI 317. Once they entered the international terminal and crossed the security checkpoints, they were at Delhi Duty Free for a pre-scheduled meet-and-greet session - about which CISF personnel at the airport had not been informed, say sources. "Though it was not a big event with a stage etc, but they came and clicked a few pictures - and CISF had no information of any such thing at Delhi Duty Free," a source from CISF told us.
Once done with their promotional activity, the actors were leaving the airport, but at that point they were stopped by CISF personnel and asked why they didn't board the flight. "If any passenger wants to move out without boarding a flight, she/he has to be shown as having been 'offloaded by the airline'. When they were told that, they had to contact the airline and wait for some 10 minutes for an airline official to come and complete the formalities. And that is actually why they were shown as 'offloaded by the airline'," adds a source.
While all this was happening at the terminal, the flight for which Sidharth and Katrina were issued tickets was delayed by over 50 minutes and as per sources, that irked the passengers waiting in the aircraft.

When contacted, the team travelling with the actors said that Delhi Duty Free didn't inform CISF at the airport about their visit and that was what caused all the confusion. Vishal Ramchandani from Excel Entertainment said in a statement, "We had a marketing tie-up with the Duty Free store at the Delhi International Airport which was facilitated by Bottomline Media. As a part of our agreement, the actors were required to click a few pictures against the branded backdrop. While the actors were there, they were surrounded by passers-by who started clicking selfies, due to which eventually a crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of them. The actors cooperated and patiently waited at the airport till all the formalities were completed. We only followed instructions and did what was told to us by the concerned authorities."
