You forgot to add both songs are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
Both songs are a triple Bengali treat...😆
Pritam, Arijit, Amitabh combo is always a killer. ⭐️

I seriously cannot choose between the 2 songs...ADHM song has better lyrics and the piano tune is so haunting, the entire song is too haunting and addictive.

While Janam Janam vdo is just heavenly because of epic SrK Kajol jodi, its a more romantic song while ADHM is more tragic song I feel.

The cadence and the feel of both songs are different, so they cannot be compared.

In fact ADHM song can be aptly compared to Phir Le aaya Dil because of the heartbreak and regret in the songs.

It would be unfair to put that boring song with these
two gem of the songs.. :p kitna besura slow song hai
phir le aaya dil... its difficult to pick between these two bl
but bohut aasan hota to pick these two over phir le aaya
bore karne.. :p

ADHM for me! (change of mind phir se sun ne ke bad ;-))
when I heard ADMH title track it reminded me of janam janam too.. I have heard them both thousand times since the teaser of adhm teaser was released!

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, I have been listening to constantly along with Raaz 3 songs on repeat, and I haven't got bored of it yet.

One problem is just one line in the lyrics:

"Tu mera Khuda"

Is there a need for this? Could have gone for something else to describe the 'love' Ayaan has for Alizeh/Saba.

Other than that, the rest of the lyrics are really good.

I love Phir le aaya dil..Its BEAUTIFUL..Its one of those songs which has that effect on you..Janam Janam, ADHM etc. are all those quintessential Bollywood songs on epic love.As much as i love them, there is just something about Phir le aaya dil..I get that people may not like it and find this weird but its one of the best songs to come out in the last few years..And the video is sheer poetry..To actually explain what a character is going through- to show what she has lost and to see how she threw it away for something stupid in just a 3 minute song- its magic..It really tugs at your heart strings..And for me personally, phir le aaya dil beats both these songs hallow..

I watched Barfi such a long time ago that I don't remember every little thing but just the main gist of the story. For me Barfi! is about Barfi and his 2 loves. I guess in the way you said, the song is good.

But songs are mostly for audio listening. Audio only, Phir Le Aya Dil is boring. With the accompanying video its okay but only if you are watching the movie. On its own, still boring for me, sorry.😳

The reason I picked ADHM over Janam Janam is that for Janam Janam the video is what elevates that song to the level it is at. Without video its just another song. (SRK-Kajol deserve every bit of credit for that songs popularity/success). I still haven't watched Dilwale (the last Indian movie I watched was Barfi! and TWM)

ADHM - you don't need the video to understand the character's pain. The lyrics convey that beautifully. The only issue I have is that line "Tu Mera Khuda".

People kept gushing on about Lootera songs on this very forum (I watch very few and select movies about 5 years after release but listen to songs) and I tried listening for myself. They are boring to me excet for may be Sawar Loon which I'd rate 1.5 out of 5. Sorry. Like I said, for me songs are audio-only except when watching movies (random songs cropping up in random places just make movies weird). So something might be nice when watching the movie/video but not so good on its own in audio format. For me Phir Le Aya Dil falls into that category.

Janam Janam's melody has a certain lilt to it that makes it sound very...elementary, theatrically cheesy and forced happy/lets-hold-hands-and-go-around-in-circles vibe. ADHM has a sadder, darker and overall more mature sound and lyrics, so I prefer that. Liked Gerua more on the Dilwale album anyways.

However, I agree that Phir Le Aaya Dil is head and shoulders above both songs...it was beautiful at the time of its release, but the best thing about it is that it has withstood the test of time. We'll see if ADHM still sounds as good in a few months, let alone a few years...

Janam Janam (only audio) looks so trashy now when compared to ADHM !!
ADHM title track not only has good music but the lyrics are kinda poetry

Good that you didn't add Phir le aaya dil because that song is in different league altogether! ❤️
