IF you didn't know about personal lives of celebs?

IF acting was a profession just like other professions, where nobody knew of the personal lives, only & only the work you did! If you had to like people just by seeing their onscreen personas, who would you genuinely like? By acting or screen presence or whatever! Or who would've become successful or at the top if only acting/screen presence/general likeability was the criteria!

So yes tell me your unbiased views! You could also mention if a certain movie changed your perspective about liking an actor's work! This is a hypothetical situation, so keep the snide remarks about their personalities offscreen out of the thread.


PS- By offscreen lives aside, I mean Salman too! None of his criminal offences in the picture! 😆

I loved Salman because I was unaware of all the controversies he was in .

I never cared abt the personal life of any celeb

Celebs personal lives should not matter as long as they are not criminally offending or harmful to the society.

While watching movies, never care about offscreen personalities. Movies are for time pass, not for morals.

I find her horrible looking (worst female actor lookwise) but is talented and would have liked her better (still like her for some reason😆😆)if not for all her affairs. (though in Quantico she is bad)

His narcissism is a buzz kill .Had I not known about his weird narcissistic habits I wold be his fan regardless of his hamming 😆😆😆.He is a looker and should have capitalized that by signing Calvin Klein or sth.

Her beauty is unmatched but her real life persona is horrible.Had I not met her my view on her would have been different.

Sorry I kind of got confused by the explanations! But do you mean the names you listed are the ones you would've liked if you didn't know about their personal lives! na? And no Ranveer int the list?

I still don't really care for personal lives of celebs..Yes its true that you can't help but get affected and some of their antics do end up annoying you but at the end of the day, its only about how well they sell their character and connect with you as an actor..For example, I don't really care for Ranbir as a person and i don't even have a high opinion about him per se but I love him as an actor and find him incredibly charming on screen..Ditto with say a PC or a Deepika or an Aamir..I don't exactly like any of these actors but when they act well and that film overwhelms me, the rest of it frankly becomes irrelevant..And am so sure most ppl here react on this forum/other social networking sites just to rile up ppl and most SRK fans probably enjoy and appreciate a good Salman Khan film in real life and vice versa ( apart from the crazy and extreme diehard fans😆)..So yeah, point is, in real life all these things frankly don't matter..Ppl wont stop watching Bhajrangi Bhaijaan just because Salman got convicted or stop appreciating say Priyanka in BM just because she has affairs with married men 😆

apart from Salman and may be Sanjay Dutt, i do not think so any celeb can be hated due to their personal lives or lifestyle. its funny that we expect superstars to be selfless and behave the way they act in films, how silly is that.

I also dislike PC, Sonam and Kangna but not because of their offscreen image, it has been something to do with the way they have highlighted their image in media to get publicity, some time its not inspiring at all being a woman. Sonam actually puts me off because neither she can act and on top of that her personal digs at other celebs who had achieved a lot of success with struggle and hard work baffles me that where does she put her brain ?

In cases of men, i like Hrithik irrespective of what his personal life is, and people do have a theory that he is narcissist but being self obsessed is not harmful as long as he is not demeaning others. I like Aamir and Akshay too even if they are touted to be fake and cheat, again they have not offended anybody personally to be loathed.

Salman is a rare case, i used to like him, then i did not care much, but now his offscreen issues are too much to ignore, not like it bother me, what bothers me is that neither he has a charming offscreen image to convince the neutral audience that he is not what he is projected to be.

But celebs are hated due to their personal lives! People do get put off by the offscreen persona. That is human nature! And there is human bias involved everywhere!
@bold- the part you mentioned gets included in personal lives/offscreen.

My question was a hypothetical situation where personal lives don't matter, and only the work or screen presence was taken into consideration.

I do bashing ONLINE only for fun... I am GAME for every Celeb's film... just that it should create a certain interest in me...
