Just ended up watching Happy Bhaag Jayegi and wow...what a gem of a movie. I just loved it. It is the perfect comeback vehicle for Penty, who shines in the movie, as do the other veteran actors like Jimmy Shergill, Abhay Deol and Piyush Mishra.
The warmth emanating from the movie, has a distinct flavour to it. The palpable sense of goodness, bonhomie, silly yet appealing comedy, truly touches the heartstrings and makes it an affair to remember.
The plot is nothing exceptional, but the movie has its moments - and these are not scarce. There are liberal doses of romance, comedy, and drama. The comedy never once is cringe-worthy. The characters are all well-fleshed out, and have substance, which is very rare in a comedy.
The songs are beautiful, the romance is touching, and there are moments which shine like the pearls on a well-worn necklace, in a subtle, understated manner. The movie is worth its weight in gold, the immense light nature of the movie belies the heavyweight core which shines with genuine warmth and energy.
Oh, how I loved this movie❤️. Has anyone else seen it?
