@Rowdy(cannot quote every post due to WL being 40): Anyways belittling asides, I am quite glad Akki is getting success that he had during the 2007 when he was number 1. This year I wish he had another movie so he could do the unprecedented four 100 crore movies in a year.

Also the success is sweet when many so called critics trashed the movie, the same ones, who called FAN a masterpiece 😆, no I am not belittling SRK, but just that critics have a weird taste.

I agree that lets not belittle anyone to celebrate Rustom's success. Akki rightly deserves praise for turning round things in his favor. Rustom was the underdog not because of Akshay but more because the budget and scale seemed smaller than MD. But a good trailer plus smart publicity campaign gave it a better opening and good WOM has sustained the film. Akshay wasnt amply rewarded for doing films like S26, Baby or even the sleeper hit Holiday. I felt all of them did a lifetime lower than the quality of the film. But this time public put their faith in Akshay's film thanks to the good work he had done in these films over critics reviews which were pretty bad for Rustom. He started reaping the fruits for his efforts to balance his filmography only from this year. I am glad he didnt give up after some initial failures like S26, Baby(they are not strictly failures but werent huge successes either) and continued to do such films. I think now the audience can expect that if its an Akki film on the system you can expect it to be a decent watch. Hence the reviews were ignored and people went out to watch Rustom for themselves.

I like akki, he is doing a phenomenal job and i m so glad that this guy is finally getting all the support. He has given so much to BW and the amount of work he does is beyond regaling 4 me.

Akshay is the best among the outsiders IMO and currently he is undoubtedly in top 3.

On the other hand Mohenjo's bad trailer and negative campaign along with huge budget led to its downfall. Won't compare the quality of both films as critics have trashed both, but people who have watched MJ have said its not as bad as its made out to be...

About Stardom I guess people put Hrithik ahead of Akshay cos Hrithik has more blockbusters and bigger successes then Akshay...
