There was a similar thread for Ranveer vs Hrithik and my vote goes to Hrithik again. That was a dream debut and Hrithik was 👍🏼

I did my obligatory duty to vote for RK, but there's no comparision and competition.
HR was a national craze and Ranbir a 🤬 in Sawaria. I watched Sawaria for Sallu and was sooo disappointed to see Sallu for 10 mins in movie 😭
And ya, I hated Sallu- Sonam pair. I am sure no one liked them and everyone wanted Sonam to end up with RK.

I was quite young when KNPH released but Hrithik, as everyone else has mentioned here, became an overnight sensation. This was before multiplexes and films ran completely on WOM, and PR/publicity were minimal to non-existent. Every guy in my class was doing the Ek Pal Ka Jeena step and every girl was in love with Hrithik. I don't think I have seen any craze for any new star ever since those times 😊.

In terms of stardom & euphoric reception, there is no-one who can beat Hrithik. He was accepted, then loved & admired in a way that I doubt any star has till then or ever since. I honestly would not be exaggerating if I say that it was very similar to how I think Rajesh Khanna was received!!! The craze & love was unparalleled. Gone are the days when young debutantes would be received on that scale. And he deserved every bit of it because he looked, danced & acted like a superstar. A confident debut!! ⭐️ Also, the movie smashing all records & wining every award till the year after it's debut not helped to further establish HR's brand-new STARdom!


RK, on the other hand, had the almost misfortune? Of working on a movie directed by one of our best directors, which was panned by the masses & critics severely. People went so far as to say that SLB has lost his touch & became 'blue.' LOL. Yet he shone in the movie & how!! I remember looking at him re-enacting his grand-father's dance steps & I knew, just knew he will be the next superstar!! He was just such a quietly confident, in control performer who had lots of natural talent & it showed!!!


In terms of audience reaction & love, no-one can beat Hrithik, I don't think any star had that. But in terms of talent & rising above the material due to said talent, Ranbir. He's a much better actor than even Hrithik, if only he believes in that again & gets back to doing better movies.
