The much-awaited trailer of the return of Xander cage has launched today, it creates a hyped up atmosphere for all of us. Not to mention Deepika Padukone looks mesmerizing and totally hot in the avatar of the smart and beautiful Serena Unger, she is taking on a new role with an action-packed surprise for all to see.
But the most unfair and hypocritical stance was the comments and feedback from our country, being a part of the same fraternity both Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra were looked down upon as they were embarking on the journey to Hollywood. I call it hypocrisy because this wasn't exactly the way how people reacted when Irrfan Khan did a Hollywood cameo appearance in The amazing spiderman, where were these same people with high levels of opinions and expectations, even though it was a five-minute appearance in the whole movie, he was adequately applauded. Then why the double standards for these two amazingly beautiful and talented actresses.
It's only now that we have all changed our minds about Priyanka Chopra as now neither we nor anyone else can take away the amount of hard work she has put in to make her name and standing in Hollywood. Suddenly everyone is ready to welcome her with open arms and honeyed words for making us all proud when it was us who criticised her for using fake accent and all other stereotypical remarks.
It seems now, that history is repeating itself, but this time, the actress under the radar of this hypocritical criticism is Bollywood's Mastani, Deepika Padukone on the account of having a small side role in her debut Hollywood movie, the return of Xander cage. The trailer was launched yesterday and in all honesty, it's a predetermined smashing hit, people need to understand that in a trailer you do not just focus on one sole character. The trailer is supposed to be a small compilation of all the most iconic clippings in action from the whole cut-out movie. So why is there a need for the people of this country to pass on their judgements about her role and timing in such a crude way under the name of public opinion on Twitter? Why such hypocrisy, because once the movie releases, I'm pretty sure her flawless performance is going rock your very world of its axis, and shake your senses enough to make you believe that she did justice to her Indian name and popularity, not to mention make all her fans happy and proud of her. Just like how we are now behaving in the case of our dear PeeCee!!
It's really a shame how some people think that just because they have a right to express and a social platform to do so, they start taking disadvantage of such a facility. We should look into our own roles towards this idol, actors and actresses before self-assuming the right to pass nasty judgements on the basis of half-hearted information.
