Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor will be sharing the screen for the first time ever in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati. Both the actors are leaving no stone unturned to give their best. Right now they are busy beefing up their HOT BOD for their respective roles. Ranveer will be playing the shrewd yet powerful Moghul Emperor Alauddin Khilji while Shahid will be Rajput King Raja Ratan Rawail Singh. The film will have some intense fight scenes between the Udta Punjab and Befikre actor.
India.com exclusively told you that Ranveer and Shahid's first shot will be their fight scene. And for that, they have been pumping iron and how. Padmavati is surely one of the most awaited films, but now it will be a drool affair too. HOW? Well look their chiseled physiques and you will understand what we are trying to say. Shahid and Ranveer will be seen in their hottest avatars ever in the film. Especially during the war scenes, they will show off their bare body. Wouldn't that be pleasing to your eyes? Of course yes.
Well if you cannot contain your excitement to watch the film. Then we have a breather as we present to you the collage of their pictures where Ranveer and Shahid showcase their HOT BODS in ganjis and shorts during recent public appearances. Most of their pictures are of them spotted outside gyms or leaving movie theatres. Aren't they drool worthy?

The film will also have Deepika Padukone who is playing the titular character Padmavati. She will be Shahid's wife in the film and they have shot for some intense romantic scenes as well. But definitely, you will miss the crackling chemistry of Ranveer and Deepika, this time they are not romantically paired in the film. But we are sure Shahid and Deepika's romance will ignite the screen and how.

Star Speak is an ongoing series of columns, penned by celebrities/designers we are used to seeing on these pages. This is their space to write about their take on fashion, the fraternity and whatever else catches their fancy.
This week's column comes from designer duo Rimple & Harpreet Narula, costume designers of an upcoming film, Padmavati'. You have seen their designs on many A-list celebrities on these pages and now, read about them working with an A-list director.
P.S: Follow Rimple & Harpreet Narula on Instagram here and look them up here.
Our foray into the Bollywood realm is nothing short of a dream... Working on a Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie, designing the costumes for the period-drama and dressing the most gorgeous lot Deepika, Shahid and Ranveer.
Designing, for us, is incarnated from our travelogues, from rare experiences evoking new emotions, from narratives of vintage textiles and from reminisces held by flea market souvenirs. Every province and every period has unique mixes that inspire us. Padmavati is one such project which offered a stunning mix of contrasting cultures layered with the intense characters portrayed by the lead cast.
Padmavati allowed us to embark on a new aesthetic journey and explore the world of period costume from a different tangent. Our ideas amalgamated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's vision shaped the very essence of the characters' costumes.
Mr Bhansali's cinema is much understated and yet visually larger than life. He captures the nuances of the characters through different mediums, costumes being one of them. While maintaining the authenticity of the period we had to ensure that we functioned on the same wavelength.

The costumes resonate with the personalities of each character; Padmavati's timeless beauty and valor, Khilji's passion and Ratan Sen's warrior spirit. The most intriguing bit was the mystique around Padmavati's legendary beauty which we tried to amplify through the elaborate costumes. A great deal of attention was paid to miniscule details in terms of colors, textures and silhouettes, to ensure an impactful visual statement.
The colors, silhouettes, form, fabrics and drapes vary not just with every event of the script but also the protagonists' internal state. It took us a few months to decode all these elements and imbibe them carefully within the costumes.
This was an extremely exciting opportunity for us as designers as it allowed us to digress from being mainstream fashion designers and progress towards a period costume drama. The initial phase involved a lot of in depth research and a deep understanding of the period and the characters. We pulled out various antique textiles from our personal archives as reference points for initial look tests, made regular visits to the Calico and Jaipur museums to try and understand the province and time period, brought artisans to Delhi to replicate the traditional block prints and "varq ka kaam that was prevalent then.
Overall this journey was quite challenging but it also allowed us to explore our potential from a different horizon, combining our sense of fashion with Mr. Bhansali's exceptional concepts. It was a memorable experience that we will cherish forever.
Rimple and Harpreet Narula, designers for the lead cast of Padmavati, tell Rediff.com's Archana Masih that it will be quite a task to replicate the fragile and elaborate costumes.
Sources from the crew have told us that unidentified people attacked the sets in the wee hours of morning and petrol bombs were thrown.
The damage is humongous, the whole set is burned, nothing could be salvaged.
Luckily, no life has been lost.
I don't know how many costumes were damaged.
Costumes are always present at the venue of the shoot.
Three schedules of the shoot are over, and we have already sent the garments for those.
We are designing costumes for the four lead characters (Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapur, Aditi Rao Hydari) and have provided plenty of costumes which are prepared well in advance.
These costumes are very fragile.
We have created them from a lot of research and it will be quite a task to replicate them.
Some of them are antique pieces and irreplaceable. These are not regular costumes that can be made overnight.
The fabrics we used are old textiles that we collected over time. There were no power looms and only hand embroidery in those days.
So a lot of detailed embroidery has gone into making them look from the era the characters lived in.
We have been working on the costumes for eight, nine months.
After getting a brief from Mr Bhansali (director Sanjay Leela Bhansali) we visited a few museums, collected information from photographs, books and spoke to historians.
Our last creation was based on the royalty of India and before that we had done a collection on the Uzbeki belt -- from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan.
We collected material from antique markets.
For the Rajasthani costumes, we have used vegetable dyes and picked up motifs and colours prevalent at that time.
We have made 40 odd costumes for the character of Padmavati.
The movie flows from one part to another. A long time goes into research and takes about 15 days of man hours to make a light ghagra and 2 to 3 months for a heavy costume.
Mr Bhansali has a vast knowledge of textiles. He has worked with so many designers in the past that there is lots to learn from him. We have worked in tandem with what he is looking for.
We received a call from his office that he would like to see us. We were nervous and went prepared to meet him.
Mr Bhansali was amazing. It is our first movie and he made sure we met each of the stars.
We were introduced to them and they are all amazing to work with.
Since costumes are very elaborate, he likes us to be on location when a new scene is set so that it is worn exactly the way it has been envisioned.
The violence is very unfortunate. Mr Bhansali has already said so many times that there is no such dream sequence.
He has delivered such amazing cinema. It is very sad that someone like him is attacked.
He is a very strong man and I am sure he will bounce back.
