The whole point of apology is to make you realize that you are in the wrong and shouldnt do it again.In Salman's case in addition to make him realize he is wrong, a message to all who follow him blindly is needed that such thought process is wrong. Rape is not something to talk about lightly, its the worst crime. So apology is necessary and what his father is doing is just disgusting. He should be made accountable. Period.

Salim Sir, your son is a public figure and a very popular one too. Millions of fans follow him.

Irrespective of what his intentions were, irrespective of it being a slip of tongue (a disgusting one at that) and even inspite of the fact that he did realize it then and there and said "I shouldn't have said that", when there is such a hue and cry in media, it would bode well if he apologized just so that he passes on the message that it is NOT OK to trivialize rape.

Guess Salim Khan is feeling the pressure between the apology demanded rightfully and his high handed son NOT giving it. So being torn between the two, he is releasing his anger.

Poor guy is 70 yrs old, how much and how long can he protect the wrongdoings of his 50 yrs old son? At some point he will lose it.

What Salim Khan said is right but his reasoning isn't.

Salman shouldn't be forced to apologize. What's the point if you just do it because of other people pressuring you? He will still remain the misogynistic and careless person who doesn't care what he says or does.

Yes, it's useless to get an apology when a person is not guilty at all but this statement would look good if it's coming from someone else. Like aamir said who is he to advice salman? They are friends/colleague and it's not his duty to teach moral science to his 50+ years friend. But, as a father it's duty of salim to make his son realise whatever he said was totally shit, spoken words can't come back but at least go and say sorry to real victims, if not anyone else. And, if his son is not listening, he should at least stop defending him non stop

TBH, in this entire drama, salim is coming out a bigger jerk than salman.
