"There is competition, but it is friendly competition. Everyone wants to do better than what they did before. The same applies to me as well. I want to do better with each film," says Shraddha Kapoor. (Aalok Soni/ Hindustan Times)
"It feels great that most films that I've done have done well at the box office, and have received so much appreciation. I feel blessed to have made the choices I have," says Shraddha Kapoor, whose latest film, Baaghi, has done well at the box office. Here, the Bollywood star talks about how she handles success, the bond she shares with her fans, and more.
You get along with your contemporaries, but are you all competitive when it comes to work?
There is competition, but it is friendly. Everyone wants to do better than what they have done before. The same applies to me as well. I want to do better with each film. I want to keep outdoing myself.
How do you handle success?
The roles that you do are relatable. Is that an advantage when it comes to making a connection with the audience?
The fact that people have been watching my films suggests that I share a special connection with the audience. That's something I cherish the most. I love being loved by them. That bond will always remain special. What you feel when people whistle and cheer for you while watching a film in the theatre is inexplicable.
You have done diverse roles so far. Is it a conscious decision to do a variety of parts?
I have been trying to do different kinds of films that cater to different kinds of audiences. Honestly, I do projects that people are likely to enjoy. Also, while choosing a movie, I think, "Will I go to watch this one in the theatre, and will I enjoy it?"
