BW works on contacts. Bips is 38, most actresses that age are where she is unless you are a Kajol and can star with an SRK at 43 or an Ash that is wanted by people like KJO. But these were leading ladies and have better filmography than Bips.But do not make light of the people that showed up at Bips wedding. She is an outsider, not someone with deep family ties to BW. But the Bachchans, SRK, Salman and most importantly people like Bobby Deol and Sanju Baba. The last two especially don't just show up anywhere. Contrast that to Preity's reception, very thin attendance. Sallu especially I am not sure but remember reading something like he came from Punjab where he was shooting Sultan for her.No one is saying KSG is the future SRK, no he is not. He is too old for that. But in Bips wedding were people like Abbas Mustan who made Baazigar, Race series, she debuted with them I think. Not sure if Vikram Bhatt came, but Bips has a history with them. Bips has several movies with Akki who I don't think came for the wedding but was one of the first to work with Kat when most heros refused to work with her. Bips has made two movies I can remember with YRF minimum. And let us not exclude Salman and SRK who produce their own movies. These are all potential contacts for ensemble/second hero type roles and horror roles. These are people KSG could never have dreamt of knowing on his own. These are again people like his competition Barun and others from the TV world do not know. This is what gives him the edge, a rolodex of contacts Bips has and an entry into a world he did not previously have access to. Whether they will give him roles or not remains to be seen, but as of now he has an edge over his compatriots from the TV world IMO. The chances of him going back to TV are slim if he stays married to Bips, perhaps if he produces, directs or wants to act. But going back to TV like Barun because he did not get movie chances is not that likely to happen to KSG because of Bips IMO. But what actually happens remains to be seen.
Just because lot of people came to her wedding that doesn't mean that they will cast KSG by her request.maybe other actresses didn't invite lot of people and they wanted a low profile wedding..if he will get small side roles or 1 or 2 erotic movies through bips then he could've get that without using her..bips career was finished after she broke up with john..long back ago she worked with abbas mustan..right now why would they want to cast KSG by her request..now he seemed to lost all his looks too..and they are not the directors that will take any serial actors..they always look for fresh faces or superstars...this time I think bips is gonna dump him when she sees his BW is not going anywhere just like maliaka left arbaaz for his dead career..just don't understand something why he even married shradda and jenny when he needed somebody to climb up the ladder..he shouldn't marry jenny in 2012 at all if he wanted to get contact in BW..I think he marries women to boast his career up..in 2008 when he married to shradda he was saying how he takes tips from shradda of acting which showed that how he was using her for his career..then ditched her when he didn't need her anymore.
