Modi to bring SRK, Sallu, Aamir together
The trio will headline the Bollywood guest list at an event to celebrate two years of the PM's tenure.

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has sent out special invites to Bollywood A-listers for a star-studded event that marks the second anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. The guest list is headlined by Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

A crowd of over 60,000 people is expected to gather at India Gate in the Capital on May 26 for the mega event, to witness an eight-hour show, titled 'Zara Muskura Do'. It will feature a series of short films highlighting the Modi government's achievements. Unlike last year's celebrations, 'Saal Ek, Shuruaat Anek', this year's show is slated to be a national event.

The government has formed a panel of ministers, headed by Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, and comprising of Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal and I&B Minister of State, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, to supervise the prep. The panel has been holding weekly discussions regarding the government schemes that will take centre stage at the event.

According to official sources, Amitabh Bachchan will open the ceremony, which will be telecast live and will feature representatives and celebrity ambassadors of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Digital India and Rural Electrification programmes. The guest list includes AR Rahman, Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Rajkumar Hirani and Saina Nehwal, among others.

The Khan trio has been on cordial terms with each other, having been snapped hugging it out at several events. While Salman and SRK performed together at the last editions of Filmfare Awards and TOIFA Dubai, Aamir is known to touch base with Sallu and SRK on their birthdays. The Khans have also taken to support each others' films by promoting trailers and posters on the social media. And now, they re-unite on Modi's invitation.

Since when have we turned to some Monarchy government that celebrates "in the year of our lord" of some ruling government? Shouldnt the money be spent on better causes rather all this pomp and show? Thats got to be some serious budget and resources. 😕

From logistical perspective this is going to cost a ton of money including all the salaries. This practice usually used to happen in monarchist places where they used to celebrate some king or queens ruling but in modern day democracy I dont remember I heard this last time. This is also not a India government non partisan event (like independence, republic day etc) but a celebration of some ruling party its a huge difference.
