I think films like ek main aur ek tu,hasee to fasee and Lootera were path breaking and special .But none of these films were lapped up by the audiences . Do you think Indian audiences should be blamed for the regressiveness in Bollywood? Do u think our aam junta has mediocre taste?
Even Fan can be considered as an example.

Nice camouflage thread trying to say Indian audience taste sucks hence FAN the all time classic failed 😆

Apart from Lootera which was despite being a beautiful movie was really off beat. The other two did good in the box office.

We cannot blame the audience for what they watch. Its their money and they can spend it on whichever film they like...I think statements like "XYZ film didnt deserve to flop/become hit" make little to no sense as a film is declared hit/flop solely based on BO, not quality.

However, if anything is to be blamed, then its the award ceremonies of the country which dont acknowledge quality cinema and are influenced by commerce and glamour of filmstars. In Hollywood too, there is parallel cinema which dont make that much money at the BO, but they do get recognized at prestigious award ceremonies...

Yes I know "Oscars arent 100% fair either blah blah...".. But award shows there are atleast 10 times more fair than Filmfare..🥱 If that was not the case then Leo would have had 10 Oscars by now..

I liked EMAET a lot. Loved Kareena and Imran in the movie. For me Lootera and HTP was terribly boring.

Bad taste of Indian audience, what can I say...😆
Like the regressive TV shows on Star Plus, Colors and Zee get the most trps, same way most trashy movies become big hits while good movies like Lootera, Rocket Singh, Dil Se, Swades, Lakshya, flop at the Indian BO. You cannot account for people's taste.

I consider HTP to be one of the most ridiculous movies ever made. Pari's character was so OTP it was a caricature. The ruins of her once promising career can directly be tied to that movie as the slide began there IMO.

EMAET - Whatever JWM had that made it so iconic this one lacked.

Loved Lootera and FAN.
