EXCLUSIVE: Not Dutt Biopic, But Kangana will play a Stand-up Comedian in Hirani's Next

Kangana Ranaut has been experiencing some issues on the personal front what with her ongoing legal battle with Hrithik Roshan. However, the power house actress is doing great on the professional front. Kangana, who has been working on Rangoon opposite Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan also has Hansal Mehta's Simran in the pipeline.

Moreover, there have been rumours doing the rounds that Kangana will play Maanyata Dutt's role in the Sanjay Dutt biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor. However, as per a close source, the actress will not feature in the biopic but will star in a very exciting project with Rajkumar Hirani. That's right, Kangana will play a stand up comedian in Hirani's next and will be taking some training and attending workshops to get into the character.

Kangana's schedule therefore goes like this: The actress will take a break after Rangoon and then start shooting Hansal Mehta's Simran while Hirani will be busy with Sanjay Dutt biopic. Post that both Kangana and Hirani will work on their new and exciting project.

Really nice!!! So I guess the pre-production work of "Rani of Jhansi" is taking more time than expected...

I knew whichever controversy wouldn't affect her on the work front. And another acclaimed director in her kitty...

I am just waiting for the promotional events for Rangoon. She can hide away as much as she wants right now, but she will have to come out for promotions of her films and that's when some really tough questions would be asked about her HR related claims. She better does her homework right because even HR doesn't seems to be in a mood to back down. The only way that she can come out clean is if she shows some proofs.

Lmao ; isn't the woman allowed to take a break after having worked for months? Who said she was hiding?

Also, indeed, promotions might end up being interesting because of the Hrithik debacle but who cares as long as it raises awareness for Rangoon? If it gets people interested in a good movie it's all good in my books.

Will be amazing if this female led movie materializes. ⭐️ This should take off after Laxmi Bai, i think in 2017. They have wanted to work with each other for too long.

She films Simran from May and wraps up prior to Rangoon release.

if this was like ten years ago, an actress involved in a controversy with a big star would have been blacklisted from the industry and directors would have dropped her out of their films.

She has the best line-up & the most exciting roles in the industry, hands down! After the debacle of Katti Batti I wouldn't have thought but wow go girl!
