The trend of cheap lyrics was set long before!
Choli ke peeche kya hain anyone?

Although the trend of semi-vulgar item sings are dying down, cheap and downright classless lyrics still exist.

She is absolutely correct !!! Lyrics of these songs is vulgar and i hate it when little children are dancing on these songs in india 🤢

I don't think, old item songs had cheap lyrics. Considering they were played only in radios, it could have been fine. Even in Madhuri's, except Choli ke, others did not have explicit lyrics. (I suppose, someone had gone to court claiming Choli ke peeche lyrics objectionable). Now, no one is bothering.

i have always hated that song. too cheap & vulgar.

i can never understand how someone can write these kind of lyrics & then someone will come and sing it too. don't these ppl feel weird writing or singing such kind of songs.

kareena should have never done this song. it was outrageous.

I think whats truly vulgar was the song Aao Raja from Gabbar. I wonder how did that song even got a permission to be made.

All the songs have indecent steps and lyrics but they have been so for years now. The recent songs have become even worse and Honey Singh and other singers have ruined the trend with their lyrics.
Not only songs, movies today also have so much indecent content shown and hence if we need to blame, it's everyone who should be blamed.

Kids have no songs to dance on today and that's a fact 😆

I agree that this should not continue but this is not something new that I am hearing.

It is true that there is hidden meaning behind old songs too. But there is big difference too, while the old songs had ideation of sex or sensuality it was portrayed by using poetic lyrics whereas todays songs have in your face vulgar lyrics and upfront sexual content. Combine this with obscene dance moves and it is disastrous.

Shabana is right but wish the same is picked up by the super stars-Khans and the super heroines.

From last 5-7yrs or so, the lyrics have gone to the pit bottom in vulgarity and sexual content. The dance moves are also suggestive and vulgar. Camera angles and skimpy clad heroine and dancers is all an eye sore. When small kids replicate it, it is dangerous for their development. Sadly many parents arent bothered.
