All the sarcasm aside, i actually do think she has star power..Can guarantee an opening of 7+ crores provided the film has decent buzz..I also think she has a lot more credibility than Ranbir at this point..But really..The main issue why she is mocked at times is because of the exaggeration..I love how everything is turned into DP's star power with retrospective effect..Deepika has given Ranbir her biggest hit..So lets see- Before YJHD, Ranbir had Barfi..He had done consistently well the past 2 years..Deepika was coming back after Cocktail and Race 2 none of which were blockbusters per se..YJHD was a romcom with chart-buster music..And RK-DP used their past relationship to the hilt and said some of the most ridiculous things possible..Yet when we analyze, just because DP is on a high right now, i love how all these factors are dismissed and DP is given the entire credit 😆 And when it comes to Tamasha, it flopped because it had Ranbir..But everyone is going on and on about how content is the king and star power is overrated..So basically having Ranbir in a film with less of Deepika can eclipse even good content and DP's star power..Okay then 😆 Am not even going to discuss the whole 'SRK is nothing without DP' angle 😆 Salman and Aamir are lucky they haven't worked with her..Otherwise we'l hear stuff like 'BB is a BB because of Deepika', '3 Idiots did well only because of Deepika..She made Aamir look convincing as a college student' etc. etc. 😆

P.S. How fickle is this forum..If she delivers a flop or two (without Ranbir😆), suddenly her star power will become overrated 😆

DP is a superstar only on this forum and in the minds of some of her fans. The fact is that there hasn't been a superstar since Aishwarya and Kareena. Is anyone here willing to bet that DP would still be a hot commodity in the next 2 years (and especially since she is turning 30). I highly doubt she will be here in the next 5 years cuz she is nothing special and is just ruling because there is no substantial challenge. Trust that her Hollywood (mis)adventure is going to bomb HARD!!! If Aishwarya couldn't do it with the sequel to a hit Pink Panther movie there is no way in hell that DP is going to achieve anything with D-list co-stars and especially with that atrocious accent. Rant over.
