It was on Wednesday that a Mumbai Mirror report revealed the content of the charge sheet submitted by CBI in the Jiah Khan case, which charged actor Sooraj Pancholi with abetting her suicide.
However, a day later, Sooraj's mother Zarina Wahab has shot back and told to Hindustan Times that her son is being targeted. "The entire charge sheet is not out yet. How dare anyone write anything about Sooraj without knowing the content. We will take action against people who are giving incorrect news," retorts Wahab to HT.
She adds, "We will only be able to talk about our plan of action once the complete charge sheet is out. I know who is trying to spread false rumours. The CBI has ruled out the possibility of a murder."
According to the MM story, the charge-sheet states that Jiah was reportedly four-weeks pregnant, and had allegedly opted for an abortion and also mentions in graphic detail how Sooraj "extricated Jiah's foetus as she bled".
Reacting to this, Zarina says, "Who is giving all these details? Has the CBI or the court said this? Once she got to know that Sooraj is free from the murder charge, she started telling stories." Ask her if the she' is Jiah's mother, and Zarina says, "I cannot take any names, but I know she is doing this. How much can she try to defame my son?"
We wonder what turn will this case take now?
