I actually feel like laughing at this whole controversy. To start with, Aamir as usual tried to prove himself as one of intelligentsia by coming up with this bizarre statement that too about such a sensitive issue. I don't say that feeling insecure or scared in a religiously/racially volatile society is anything wrong but dude! lets make it clear, even if the religious intolerance hits the masses, you would be the last one to get a scratch. If you remember you gave multiple multi-crore hits in the last decade! You have a team of bodygaurds around you 24*7 and your kids future will surely be in abroad until they too wish to become actors and en-cash on your legacy. So CHILL, you are safe :p Secondly if you had to show your highly opinions about such a sensitive topic, why make such a controversial remark?? Just to gather some eyeballs? like really? There were 100 better ways to raise your concern.
And if Aamir wasn't enough, our politicians and more than that all these so called self-proclaimed enlightened intellectuals of the country whose current leader is Anupam Kher, they are 10 steps ahead. What that man said is what he feels like a citizen of India. Almost everyday we hear people saying how they don't want to live in India because of xyz reasons. We all have NRIs in our family who were probably not satisfied with this country. Many of us wont leave the next chance we get to settle abroad for a more secure future. And that doesnt make any of us a criminal. Its personal choice. If we say or wish to live outside the country. Then why does Aamir Khan become a criminal if he says that the intolerance in the country makes him skeptical about living here!! Dude its his choice. And I dont understand this constant rants about how Indians have made an SRK or a salman or an aamir. If thats so every profession is made by someone. A doctor has no worth if there are no patients. A teacher has now worth if there are no students. But still do we ever make a teacher or a doctor feel indebted to their students or patients?? No we probably respect them. Then why the hell does an actor need to feel indebted to his audience??? Its a business and a give and take relationship. Its stupidity to bring the Indians' mahanta in making the khans what they are. They are what they chose and worked to become. And seriously tough I wish Aamir had been sensible in voicing his concerns about intolerance but the way his pov has been twisted, its utterly ridiculous.
